Does anyone else have this problem?

I have this problem where when I want to have sex, my vagina basically tenses itself shut, and it's extremely painful if not impossible for the guy to get in. I recently discovered that it's most likely a condition called vaginismus (wikipedia has a pretty good article about it if you're not familiar with it) and it usually caused by previous sexual abuse or generalized anxiety. Since I've never been abused and definitely have anxiety, I'm pretty sure that's what it is, but I haven't actually been diagnosed by a professional. My question is, does anyone else here have this problem, or know anyone who does? If so, what did you do to treat it, and did it go away eventually? So far the best idea I could come up with would be to get small vibrators in increasing sizes, but has anyone found anything else that worked?
