Fake tits. Why does everyone hate them?

Darling Dove Darling Dove
Alright, so a bit of backstory
I'm a big gal. I have decent sized breasts. If I lost the weight as my doc wishes, I will lose considerable mass from my breasts. I refuse to cope with having smaller breasts. I've lived with this size all my life and wrong as it may be, I'm attached. I need them.
So assuming I lost weight I would get breast augmentation to regain the lost mass. My skin isn't very elastic, so it'd likely still be stretched anyways and would leave smaller breasts looking like sad little potato sacks.

Now, every person I have discussed this with has has a reaction that was less than pleasant. People that think I am sexy now tell me I would not only be less sexy or no longer sexy, but that I "would be making a mistake" and it is "a terrible decision". Seeing as falsies are getting better every day, and seeing as they can actually use other body fat instead of synthetic materials now- I am really failing to see the issue.

Sure there is the horror story of the 'botched boob job', but thats usually when very small girls try to go to a huge size, or when the doctor is poorly trained, there are lots of factors. And while it is still relatively expensive, its come down a lot in recent years and is much more approachable to the everyday girl.

My question is this:
Why does EVERYONE seem to hate fake boobs?
What makes them, if they are the same size, worse than the old boobs, assuming a woman is getting them as a 'replacement'?
Do you believe natural breasts are better than fake breasts? if so, why?

In my opinion, boobs are boobs. Sure there may be some texture differences- WHO CARES? Girls with fake ones can still give tit jobs, I've seen it. They're still pretty natural looking if they are done right, and they're plenty soft enough to lay on. So... though I, too, have heard the nightmarish botched boob job stories, I can't say I see the reason for extreme dislike to the point of making someone who is sexy completely unsexy. Any opinions? am I just missing something that makes them evil, or..?

As another woman with natural large boobs, I completely agree with you. Now that I've come to terms with them, I love them in their large size. Though I woudn't mind replacing them with fakes, since those would support their own weight a heck of a lot better than the ones I grew.

I've seen both ends of the boob job spectrum from a decently close vantage point. On the overwhelmingly positive side: My little sister's godmother is a breast cancer survivor. They had to a single radical mastectomy, and she had breast reconstructive surgery when she recovered. The doctors suggested, and she agreed, that she get the healthy boob "rejuvenated" when the new one was created so that she wouldn't, in her words "have the boob of a 50 year old and the boob of a 20 year old". Both turned out fantastic. The healthy boob job wasn't a necessary surgery, it was purely cosmetic. It doesn't make her un-sexy.

Also on the positive side, an A cup friend got fakes to boost her to a solid C. They look great, she's happy, and there's nothing about the boobs that is evil or bad. Sure, they may not be the ones nature gave her, but they make her happy.

Having seen a botched boob job, I again agree with you: a combination of a lightly build girl with a small frame getting an "affordable" boob job to a very large size (AA to DDD if I remember correctly). They looked good until something went wrong. She never told us what had happened, and she had to get the surgery reversed, but they looked misshapen and deflated.

Bottom line? As far as I'm concerned, fake tits in and of themselves aren't bad. Like any invasive surgical procedure, stuff can go terribly wrong. They can also do great things for a woman's self-image. (Whether this should be true is another story, but that's how it stands for now)

My wife's discussed getting a boob job because she's got large breasts and as she gets older, she notices them sagging.

Personally, I like hers just as they are, in whatever shape they are - but I can see her motivation.

In my experience, fake books look great IN clothing - they are sort of the 'ideal' shape and size - but natural ones look better out of clothing.

I'm not against cosmetic surgery - I had LASIK, for example - but I generally prefer things to be natural, which is why I'm against circumcision, too. At the end of the day, though, it's what YOU want and what YOU think would make you feel better about yourself.

Like losing weight, getting your hair cut or anything else, do it FOR YOURSELF and not because of what you think anybody else or society in general thinks.

I'm sure you're gorgeous either way.

This is exactly right. Fake boobs don't move like real ones. I personally think saggy but real breasts look better than non-saggy fake ones.

Here's the thing: barring reconstructive surgery, boob jobs are a sign of insecurity. You care THAT much about what other people think, you're willing to mutilate yourself? So many women I know who have had breast implants lack sensation or find them too painful to play with. What's the fun of that? I have 34Bs, and I can orgasm from nipple stimulation alone. There's NO way I would sacrifice my own personal pleasure for the lustful gawks of strangers. Those people mean nothing to me. I mean EVERYTHING to me.

Personally, I like them natural...saggy or not. I've seen a FEW really natural looking boob jobs, but they still feel different and move different. It's personal preference. I have large sagging breasts that I'm sure will get worse if I have another child as planned. I wouldn't be opposed to having a lift and tuck, if I had the money to blow. In my life time though, I doubt that money would be there for something so frivolous. That's just me. As long as I still feel attractive and my fiance still loves them, I'm okay.

I see your point but respectfully disagree. If I ever chose to get any sort of cosmetic surgery, it would be because of what I think. I mean, there's no one who looks at my own body more than me.

You're very wrong. I like my tits because I just like them. I like tits in general. I LOVE playing with my tits, I love how they're just more than a handful, I love squishing them together and lubing them up and.. you get the idea. Other people can fuck off if they have a problem with how I look, I am a fat girl, not many people like how I look anyways. I am losing the weight for me and for my health. but I want to keep my tits. My frame is accustomed to them, I'm used to them. I would miss them. Period. Other people are not part of the equation.

As well, part of it is that my breasts have a naturally.. lumpy? inner texture. This is because a lot of the breast is actually the inner breast tissue (I asked the doc cause I was worried about it being the bad kind of lumps) so if I lose the surrounding fat, obviously this texture will show and will be much more prominent to the touch. I do not want lumpy potato breasts. I want these breasts, the ones I have now. I dont see where, from my explanation, you get the thought that I am doing this for ANYONE but myself.

yes I talked about it with my friends- CLOSE friends that I thought would not mind. But that doesnt mean what they say will actually have an effect on what I do.

I have seen a number of natural looking boob jobs. But whenever you have over a C cup, people will assume and ask if it is fake anyways. Of course, it is possible I might not lose much from my breasts at all, and that would be awesome. I'd love to stay natural if possible. But I think with the new boob jobs where they take natural body fat and use it, there should be no difference whatsoever. The fake ones do move differently.. and that stinks. But, I would feel so... unlike myself, I guess, to reach for what has been part of my body all of my life and not find it. So.. it'd kind of be like a placeholder for me? haha, replacement breasts.

Breasts are really just bags of fat and glands meant to feed babies, I look at them at work all day and see nothing sexy about them. Its a signal I wouldn't want to amplify, but I can see how advertising and fashion have made normally endowed women feel inadequate. I can see having them replaced after a mastectomy, and I can see having them reduced because they cause back, neck and shoulder problems, but big breasts just look matronly.

I can understand where you are coming from. If you want them and can afford them...go for it! I wouldn't judge you, but who cares if I or anyone else did? As long as you are doing it for you, who else is it going to hurt?
I never assume big ones are fake, but you can always tell when they are bare. Big boobs sag... that's a fact. Gravity and age, regardless of breast feeding will take it's toll, even if there is fat in them or not. I have always been able to tell when someone's are fake, if they are naked in front of me or in porn. Even the really good ones. I love the way a woman's body curves and breasts jiggle, so I pay special attention to how they look when they move. The nicest ones I've seen also still felt fake in my hands and my mouth. Like I said, it's about preference.

I know its about preference- I've seen some, though, that have sagged and gotten softer with age. I suppose its about the quality of the job and the suitability of the girl for the procedure. I am very excited about seeing the results of the new procedures using your own body fat though. Love handles would finally have a worthwhile use! haha.

Well, I think fake boobs are...whatever. I don't care. If I met someone I didn't know with fake boobs judging right off the bat I would think they were shallow. But I also know everyone has their own reasons, and I think as long as it makes you feel more you it's fine. I don't like it when people try to be something they're not.

Now that I've somehow grown a tumor in my breast I know it's not something I would do, because had I had a silicone bag there (or otherwise) I wouldn't have felt or seen it growing until maybe it was too late. Also, breast cancer (nor any cancer) runs in my family. So that's something to think about.

Well, breast augmentation is also used to replace breast tissue that is removed if a tumor or the whole breast must be excised due to breast cancer, so... While I very much hope that you do not have to come to that, there are tons and tons of different reason to consider that someone may have fake breasts.

Personally, I considered them for a long time, finally casting the thought aside after I had a boob growth spurt in my late 20s (wtf?) as well as having seen pair after pair of fake breasts and rarely seeing a well done pair (I'm not saying I've never seen them well done, it's just simply not as frequent.) I really dislike the tight, stretched look of the skin that a lot of women seem to have after the procedure as well as the huge gap in cleavage that is a dead giveaway to fake breasts.

If, as I age, I decide that my breasts sag too much, I will have a breast lift as opposed to implants. To me, it just looks more natural, mainly due to the lack of skin tightening.

That being said, if it is something a woman wants to do for herself, it's her decision. I also think it definitely has a place for reconstruction after a mastectomy or lumpectomy.

I agree with what most of the women here have said. Natural ones look the best, and are the sexiest because they are real, however, getting breast enhancement to make you look more proportional and filled out usually looks fine. But I think the oversized, ridiculous DDD boobs on skinny women that makes them look like they are going to fall over is COMPLETELY unattractive. I also agree that a natural, saggy pair looks better than a fake pair.

That being said, what is most important is what makes YOU feel good about yourself. Would I get a boob job? Most likely, no. But I don't look down upon anyone else that decides to do so.

Okay, I haven't read all the responses, but this is my take: It depends on the reason. I think there are too many women that get them just to get them. But, on the other hand, there are some not-so-well-endowed women that feel tons better about themselves after having it done. A friend of mine was basically completely flat-chested, so.. she saved up, and got them done. She didn't over do it, just got B cups, but the self-image flew sky high after that. For some women, it's just the boost they need!

Darling Dove I am one of those women who love mine too but have lost most of the tissue on both due to lumps being removed and surrounding tissue. Not that I ever had large breasts but my full A is now a AAA. A friend of mine lost over 100lbs and her nips now touch her knees. Both of us would love to get what we had back. She is doing it in the next few weeks after years of saving money. I on the other hand am still not ready for a number of reasons. One being I don't want perfect round breasts. My friend had perfect round breasts and that's what she's getting back. I don't care what your reasons are for doing it. You're an adult, seem to be well informed and know the possible complications. Doing it is not a cop out or buying into some image created by enviroment. You like yours and want to keep them. If you can't keep them get new ones that you like. I really don't get why there would be any question.

If you do the correct exercises with weights and weight machines, you can build up the pectoralis major and minors and heve pert breasts, at any age. I saw a really hot woman bodybulder who was sixty eight, shopping in FoodLand in Maui. She had exercise clothes on and she didn't have huge breasts, but they were real and firm enough to not need much support. She also had great legs, and a slammin bicep vein as well. (She had eggs, ground turkey and lots of broccoli in her cart).

I don't know why everyone is so adamantly opposed to fake breasts and/or cosmetic surgery in general. I do think people overdo it a lot of the time, or really get bent out of shape because they don't have a "perfect" body, but there's no reason why a well-reasoned choice to have some cosmetic surgery should be considered a bad decision. Sure there's shape/feel issues, and obviously cosmetic surgery does have a risk associated with it...but I don't think any of those are legitimate roadblocks if the look/feel will make you happier.

Everyone hates fake breasts? That's news to me!

I like boobs, no matter if they're real of fake. True, we've all seen some horrible boobs- and not just because of plastic surgery gone wrong... even natural breasts can look unappealing to the viewer.

I don't think there's anything wrong with plastic surgery unless it's a way to forget about or ignore an emotionally or mentally distressing situation. I think it's perfectly acceptable to have a surgery to change the way you look if it will help you to regain some of the confidence you've lost over the years dealing with having a misshapen or "ugly" feature.

Plastic surgery is not without risks, we've all seen the horror stories and just look at Tara Reid, she's the poster child of "do your research before surgery".. but if everything goes well, a woman can save herself years of feeling inadequate or feeling like she's ugly. And YES, some people do become addicted to plastic surgery because they will never feel like they look like they should or like they aren't beautiful enough yet... it's stories like that that ruin the possibilities of plastic surgery. When used with caution, it can be a highly effective tool to boost your self esteem.

I know I for one, will probably go under the knife as I age... I'm vain- give me botox, I don't care if my forehead won't move, at least I won't have wrinkles. And yes, I might even get my tits lifted if they start to sag when I hit my 40's- I want to feel good about myself and if a surgeon can do what my psychologist can't, then you bet I'm going to get proactive.

SD, well, most of my male friends are very very opposed to them. I've never met a guy that likes them. I think if I could, I would opt for the more natural form of enhancement rather than having silicone or saline implants though. It seems like there would be less chance of rejection or migration of the implant if it was done with your natural tissue. Plus, ideally, it would feel the same and hopefully not look fake.

Surgery can become an addiction- but so can ANYTHING else, and I think people forget this when they talk about the horrors of surgery. I could become addicted to collecting plushies, or buying new cars and expensive clothes, anything can be addicting.

I'm generally a big fan of breasts of all shapes and sizes, but I saw one pair that was obviously augmented and freaked me out. They were gravity-defying and utterly spherical in a way that I had never seen before and have not seen since. They were way big on the person's frame and looked rather like flesh-coloured beach balls. I have no problem with surgically changed breasts as long as they actually look like breasts and not something else...

I'm not a big fan of large breasts...mostly because they are just plain heavy and can cause back issues. I actually feel sorry for women with large breasts. Fake boobs are creepy.

I think natural breasts are gorgeous. It's not about the size. It's about the shape, the way they hang and move with your body. I don't understand why anyone would undergo a very risky surgery (ALL surgeries have risks) for purely cosmetic reasons. The only time that I really understand it is when women get reconstructive surgery after a mastectomy.

It's not that I hate them, just that I see them as unnecessary in most cases. Especially as an attempt to 'replace' breasts you had with your old body. You haven't even seen what your breasts will do when you lose weight yet and you're already assuming they're going to be awful. I'm actually a little offended at the idea that the natural way that our breasts react to the changes in our body makes you think they look like 'sad little potato sacks'. I've had four children and with each pregnancy and birth your breasts fill up with milk and go back down once you stop producing milk. My breasts are still beautiful, even though they aren't perky like they were when I was in high school. I think our society focuses far too much importance on appearing youthful instead of appreciating the beauty of wisdom and age.

My issues are with the constant self hate. We don't think we're attractive enough while we're fat, yet when we lose weight we still need to have major surgery to fix our boobs and tighten the skin on our bodies to be beautiful? We're never going to be good enough because there isn't a photoshop for real life. It's far better to spend your time and money learning to love your body the way it is than to risk your life altering it.

I prefer the look of natural breasts to implants in just about every case. I can't stand the way the areola is pulled taut, or how high up on the chest the implants sit. I don't like the shape, which is especially bad when a woman with implants is laying on her back.

I don't hate the idea of it, just the aesthetics.
