ok ok, so we have how old were you. Now I was wondering about is there any funny(looking back) or emmbarasing stories of your first period. Were were you what did you think.

I kinda had a feeling mine was coming, I was a late bloomer. The night before I had horrible cramps. AF arrived the day before my 14th birthday (happy birthday to me...not)..in between classes in 8th grade.
Thankfully I was totally prepared. I'd been carrying around tampons so I could 'fit in' with my friends...knowing one day I WOULD eventually need them.

Mine was kinda watered down and lasted something like, 10 or 12 days a few weeks before I turned 13. Only needed panty liners for that one, lol.

I started at home, with my dad. My mom was at work. I was NOT telling him to find me pads. So I called her from the bathroom.
I told her I started and she squealed into the phone and proceeded to yell it to all her coworkers *facepalms*
I then got a Congratulations card when she got home.

Nothing remarkable. My mother the RN had me prepared since I was eight and it happened when I was twelve and at home. Didn't feel weird about it, just knew that it was normal and expected. I was cramping terribly, though, during it.
Just over twenty years down, another twenty-odd years to go. Ugh.

I was 14 and had horrible cramps the night before, I thought I was insanely sick and actually called out from my babysitting job..then when I got my period I felt so silly for cancelling the babysitting job.

I was 13. I was having such terrible pains that my parents thought I was having an appendicitis, so they took me to the ER. Doctor couldn't find anything other than slightly elevated T cells, so I went home. I started the very next day. It never occurred to anyone that it could be my period. lol

I started when I was 13, and woke up soaked in blood in my bed. I had school that morning and had to use what my step mom had available, but it was NOT fun. I kept going around feeling like I was wearing a diaper and like everyone could see it (but no one could of course).

I only remember it being like red thin lines on the tissue and bad cramps. I don't remember the aftermath really.

I hate my story. I was raised with no puberty education whatsoever. I knew there was something called a period that my older sister had to leave school because of, but I didn't know what it was or what it entailed. I discovered it in the evening at home when I went to the bathroom and my underwear was soaked with blood. I totally freaked out and thought I was bleeding to death. Yea, not fun.

My mom is very open and honest and had me well prepared from when I was young. I was 10, and she expected me to be early because she was early and I already had a full B-cup chest at the time, and I was actually home sick for strep or something like that when it happened so it was no biggie. It was also really light and completely painless for the first few years until cysts began developing on my ovaries.
My mom is also very holistic and natural and kinda hippy-ish though (she's an ARCB reflexologist, a massage therapist, and an exercise physiologist now 8 credits from her BSW and opening a restaurant w/ her boyfriend) so I didn't know what tampons were until I was older and all my friends were using them. She would NOT buy them for me so I couldn't try them until I had a job of my own and to this day, my body just rejects the damn things and reacts very badly to them. She also used very hippy-mom words like 'womb' in place of uterus when explaining things. My mom kinda rocks
