I killed my DivaCup

Contributor: null null
I burned it I was boiling it to clean it today and I forgot about it and the water boiled away and it burned. I just ordered a new one.
Has anyone else made this stupid mistake?

Sorry if I sound totally dumb and like a loser, what's a DivaCup?

DivaCup is a menstrual cup. You insert it into your vagina, and it collects menstrual flow. It can be emptied, rinsed, and reinserted. It is more eco-friendly and economical then tampons.

Oh bummer! Was your silicone or latex? I've never burned one, but I did lose my first one once when I moved. Here's hoping the new tenants knew to toss it out...

It was silicone. I'd had it for years, long enough that I'm kinda upset about it. :/
Already ordered a new one, but cursing myself for letting it boil away. Then again, at least it was a $25 cup, not an expensive silicone toy!

I'm sad you killed it. At least they're reasonably priced.

I'm mourning for it. Glad that I just finished my period.

Oh no! I would be heartbroken! I have very fond feelings for my DivaCup, so I can totally relate to your feelings of sadness. I hope your new one arrives soon. I'm sure you'll make friends with it too soon enough. What did you end up doing with your old one? Maybe you should have some sort of goodbye ceremony.

I tried to see if I could rub away the burned bits like soot, and it ended up crumbling apart, so I kept peeling at it...for science. She now lays in little pieces at the bottom of my garbage can. No ceremony, she was too utilitarian for that.

My condolences.

I've had my LadyCup for over a year and now I'm buying a large one, 'cause the capacity is only 15ml. I bid on 2, 'cause I used a site that bids for you and I put a $25 mark for each one and surprisingly won both. Now I'm getting the "green meadow" and turquoise (both my fave colors of this brand, the new plum is the third). It will be a tough decision to pick one to sell (can't afford them both now).
