Nipple Piercings...

Contributor: Lucidity Lucidity
I had mine pierced, they never healed right. The left one rejected three times...that's right, I had it re-pierced twice. It didn't matter what I did, they didn't want to heal. I think it's just that I have larger breasts. But they didn't do much for me anyway, so I took them out.

Oh, also yeah... aside form the rejecting (which is always a possibility, though less of one if you get it done by a real pro -- you get what you pay for) I never had issues. They didn't get caught on bras, but loofahs, yes and other random stuff sometimes.

They did not increase my nipple sensitivity at all, and if you have surgical grade stainless steal or gold in, it won't set off metal detectors.

I'm keeping an eye on this discussion, as I eventually want mine done and love hearing about others' experiences with their own piercings.

Heres the thing; there are pros and cons.

I got mine initially to try to repair my inverted nipples. It helped keep them onlt a little but enough to boost a little confidence. 2 years later I got implants so I took them out (a year ago now) and I still have the holes which leak white stuff especially when squeezed. Its a normal occurance with any peircing.

They can add sensatons but they can ruin it too.

Also, infections could be extremely dangerous.

They are sexy but remember, a huge percentage of people expirience the white pus especially after taking them out.

Do your research, I dont really regret it but I should have thought about it more. Id prefer to not have the white stuff. I did it spontaniously (kinda). I wanted to do it for a while but one day I jumped right into it.

I had mine pierced. First off I done them myself it's better if your a woman to do them yourself than to go to a tattoo place flop out your breast and say I want this pierced. LOL. I just used a piece of ice and a 14 gauge piercing needle. link sells them if they are still in existent. I only don't have them now because I was playing football with some of my guy friends (yes I'm a girl) and this 600 pound (he felt like (10,000 pound) guy landed on top of me during a tackle and ripped them out on a rock. I didn't even feel it. And a friend noticed there was blood on my shirt. He said your bleeding I said huh whatever he said no look I looked down and sure enough he was right. I done them last summer and they got caught on a string from a wash rag ripped them both out again. It's been a few months but I'm going to pierce them again.

I've had mine for about 4 years. I prefer the look of bars to rings. In terms of sensitivity it's probably the best investment I've ever made on a piercing, but I really like nipple play a lot.

I have had both of my nipples pierced for about two years. While yes they hurt it was bearable and the second one hurt much more than the first one did. The first week or so they were very, very sore but once they started healing they were fine. I love the way they look and my sensitivity hasn’t changed at all.

I can’t comment on breastfeeding since I have never been pregnant nor do I plan to be. They did develop some crustiness in the beginning but I washed it well with saline wound wash twice a day and an antimicrobial lotion soap and it cleared up quickly. I still use the soap on both my nipples and my nape piercing about two times a week in the shower just to help keep them clean and happy and I have yet to have any issues.

I have snagged them both on my bra a time or two when I was in a rush but it was more a slow down tug than ouch feeling. I would caution any heavy nipple play until at least a month after getting them done and to not expose them to body fluids such as saliva to keep down risk of infection and rejection. Go to some place that knows what they are doing and does them often and don’t be afraid to ask the piercer questions, even if it is a week or month after you get them done. Hope this helps.

I got mine pierced after a couple of friends had theirs done... one had no problems that I know of, and the other ended up with an abcess the size of nearly her entire breast... having to have surgery and a big old hole in her boob. Traumatizing, to say the least. She accredits the infection to allowing her breasts to be suckled while they were still in the healing process.

With mine, I found it to be a rush once the first one was pierced... then the waiting period (likely no more than 1 minute) between the first and second, it was excruciating. However, I kind of enjoy pain. Afterwards, attempting to work a cash register was a nightmare, with the drawer hitting me in the stomach even lightly and my shirt grazing the jewelry... ouch! So plan on laying down, and not working right after piercing.

Also, make sure you clean and take care of them exactly as instructed.

An odd sidenote: once I took my piercings out (I grew tired of them) and they started growing back, my nipples began producing milk. I had myself checked for tumors, and was fine. They will still produce milk if stimulated but no longer enough to stain a shirt. I contribute this 100% to the piercings, which as I was told, were originally invented by Afrikan women looking for a way to incrase milkflow to their newborns.

Good luck!

Also, my nipples are now permanently hard because of the piercings, which have been out for over 4 years now.

I had mine pierced. The piercing itself is painful, but not the worst thing ever. However, my body rejected them and I lost some sensitivity and gained some obvious scars.

The one and only argument you need in the "con" column is Are you planning on breast feeding after your piercing? Other than that, you can go right ahead and get them done. I've been nudging my wife to get hers done and all the women I know who have them, love them. And the few men who don't like them, don't like women who post in forums like these.

I chose 3 answers.

I would suggest if they interest you- go for them!!

I have had mine pierced twice actually. the first time the one rejected (mainly because of an incident when we were having sex outside in a car, I got out to go around the car, shut the door, and my piercing got caught, and ripped it a little bit...weird situation- i know)

the second time, they just did not heal again properly, always back and fourth between healing and being inflamed...I just got sick of them because my man could never touch my nipples without it hurting. I have larger breasts aswell (DD)-that might've been a factor! depends on your nipples! GO for it!

I've actually always wanted to get my nips pierced, but I've been too scared to do it. One of my friends is in a sorority that used to have a tradition involving nipple piercings. Enough women in her organization got their nips pierced that one of the local piercers actually gave a discount to members of her sorority.

Then it turned out that the guy was a junkie and was reusing unsterilized equipment. His shop closed, he went missing, and some of the women lost sensation in the nipple that was pierced.

Excluding that horrible worst case scenario, I'm still a little afraid because I feel like that would be an incredibly awkward situation, but still less awkward than a clit piercing. Maybe I'll do it if I can find a female piercer. Lol

My partner had her nipples pierced when she was a teenager, and took them out a few years before we met. She says her nipples are way more sensitive now then they were before, and she didnt keep them in long, maybe a 6 months to a year.

I have them, they just serve an aesthetic purpose for me as I have little to no sensitivity in my breasts.

I had mine done a few years ago and I voted "had them done and wished I didn't" only because there wasn't another option. I don't regret it by far, but it just wasn't working out for me. They were always causing me problems and seemed to just give me slight discomfort all the time. Strange because I LOVE nipple play and my nipple clamps. The reason I like the clamps are because they remind me of how my nipples felt about 2 weeks after they were peirced. I wanted to have the done again, but decided against it since I'm not comfortably being topless for a stranger to poke holes. Back when I got all of my piercings, I knew the person so it was much easier.

If my partner were a pro piercer, I'd def. let him re-do my nipples though.

I had both of mine done, and one of them started to tear, so I had to take it out. I still keep the other one in, but it doesn't really do anything for me.
