Sex after a baby how long did you wait?

I waited the full 6 weeks with both of mine because I had stitches and it was just too uncomfortable. We counted those 6 weeks down to the minute though! It wasn't easy to start having sex again after giving birth for me. We had to take it slow and easy for a while.

If I recall correctly we waited about two and a half weeks and used condoms. Something about being told not to have sex makes us really want to have sex! I got really nervous about getting pregnant again though so we had sex very rarely in between that and when I was able to get my Mirena.

We couldn't wait long. I think we waited about 10 days or so with our first one, maybe a week or less with our second and I offered My Man a blow job the day after I got home from the hospital with our third. He looked so lonely and sad alone in the bed. I was on an air mattress on the floor, because I couldn't get into our waterbed because of my C Section incision. So, I said, after I had gotten the baby to sleep, "Somebody needs a blow job." He was on the air mattress so fast! We waited maybe a few more day to actually have PIV.

I had C Sections after long labors and pushing with our first two. Our third was a "planned" C Section, but when they did the amnio to see if her lungs were mature about a month before she was due, I went into labor. So, she came into this world early, but healthy. She was one of those "eat every hour" babies, so we had to get the sex in between breastfeedings. I kept my bra on for weeks, because she had a terrible latch and my nipples were sore. But, neither My Man or I can go long without sex, so we got back into it pretty quickly. Lube helps.

He also pulled out until the locia stopped. Not a good idea to have semen in a still open cervical os, so condoms or withdrawal are recommended. He also didn't put his fingers inside me until the locia stopped either, for the same reason. I was ecologically breastfeeding (feeding on complete demand, baby in the bed (except for when we were having sex) no solids, no pacifiers, no bottles. So, we had no fear of pregnancy until I got my period back, when the babies were about a year old. Although classically, Ecological Breastfeeding only protects until the baby starts solids, which shouldn't be until after the 6 month mark.)

From the day I got home from the hospital I gave regular blow jobs. I waited 5 weeks after both of them. I had to be cut with my first one so I had many stitches. With my second I tore in a few places so I had a few stitches. I had to wait for these to heal before I could try anything. I was dyeing at 5weeks could not take it anymore had to do it. We used withdrawal method after my first one for over a year and after my second one we used it until my 6week check up when I got the pill. My first few times after each kid were painful. I was really tight and he had to go slow. I did breastfeed so I was done bleeding both times in 2weeks and locia stopped within a few days after.I was feeling really normal by 3weeks just still had stitches and inside was still sore.

If you are healed and feel ready. Do it. Just slow!

My post-baby bleeding lasted FOREVER!

With my first I waited 2 months I had a c section and then an allergic reaction to the staples it was bad. With my second I think I waited about the same amount of time. I just had no sex drive while nursing herfor the first couple of months that is.
