I am thinking about starting a cam career to make some extra money. I am a starving college student! I was wondering if anyone has any advice on websites or how to start out.
I am also concerned about how I will like the job and am looking for peoples opinions on the profession.

AHHH! I did it, and I actually like it.

I make decent wages and I can do it at home in my room. The only drawback is all this razor burn ; )

If anyone is interested just message me because I would love to talk more about its effects on lifestyle and such as well as refer you if needed!

Pfft razor burn. When I was camming (only for a little bit, it makes me boyfriend uncomfortable) the guys LOVED that I was unshaven. It was something different for them and unexpected.

I recently just got rid of all my cam sites. I enjoyed it on and off but a lot of things that people wanted me to do on there were degrading. I still have one sugar daddy but my boyfriend and I are going to settle down and get married and we don't want to do this sort of thing anymore. I guess it's different for everyone.

I cammed for a bit, but I was unable to keep a consistent schedule, and that is key. It was hard for me to build a following because I could not be on at the same time on set days. Even if you just work one or two days a week, it is important to keep those times, as your clientele expect you to be there. I loved doing it, but just couldn't make it work. It isn't a job where you can be sporadic...it's just like a regular job. Find the hours that will work for you, on a weekly basis and stick to it. I tried a couple of years ago but I'm bad at small talk and (sometimes) selling myself so it just wasn't right for me. I didn't try that hard though so sometimes I still think I could have done it if I had found my niche.

I am one. And I love it. It has it's ups and downs like every other job but I enjoy it a lot. Sex toys = tax write off. Need I say more? lol but no seriously it takes a lot of work to be an excellent, famous, popular camgirl. I am not one of those..I just get on when it suits me and have fun.
Lately, I've invested more time in clip sites. It's easier to record a video than to stay on a livechat for hours. Plus, cips = passive income.

I've definitely thought about it, but I wouldn't want it to put a strain on my relationship. My boyfriend has said before that he didn't think he would really mind, but I would want to make sure he was 100% behind me if I were to do it. The extra cash would be nice, though. We need it.

i've thought about it, but never done it for money. i used to dance, and had the opportunity thru the one club i worked at but i was really against even pictures back then. now i wouldn't care what people think, but i know it would mess with my head. the sex industry isn't for everyone. i have no moral issues with it though.

im glad to hear people say they enjoy doing it, and others saying they don't. i know when i danced many people didn't understand that it could be fun, and even a turn on sometimes.

if i was going to cam, i think it would be way more enjoyable with a partner.

i think if you feel comfortable to do it then more power to ya its your life, just remember that everything you do follows you and that you should really think about it good and hard. i personally have not done it and will never do it but if you wanna do it i'm personally not judging you. =) make that money girl....lol

My bf actually does cam vids in drag. I've watched a couple and they were totally hot. I was in chat the whole time and it was nice to see so many guys and a couple of girls really into him.

When they others realized I was in chat there was a lot of requests for a couples show. I would've done it but we are Long distance so I wasn't able to. We were going to do it when I visited a few weeks back, but I don't want to risk being recognized. Mostly because I'm going through a custody thing and the last thing I want is to lose my kids because I did a cam show.

I started camming about a month ago. I tried out three different sites, but only worked a total of about 10 hours (scattered). I wanted to find my footing in the industry and gauge the potential of this line of work, or atleast my potential with in it. In that 10 hours , different times of day, and 3 different sites, I was able to make $500 , including a $100 amazon giftcard for some homemade videos. Since I havent really worked a true consistent shift / shifts, I cant really tell if this is what I should expect to earn (upwards of $50 per hour) or simply beginners luck. At this point, I've set a goal to work more hours (2 shifts a day totaling 8 hrs). I like the work, havent run into too many rude ppl / racists (Im black and for some new models, derogatory comments can really be a downer). I can certainly keep you guys updated if it interests you

College student means you have plans beyond this in life. Be warned, these things can, and indeed will, come back to haunt you.

A good teacher just got canned for having porn in her past. Worse yet, a court upheld the firing. Once "on the net", her photos will be there "forever", and so she is never "out of it", being the logic. Right or wrong, you don't know, at 20 years old, what you may want to do someday, or where you want your life to be, and right now, you may not envision yourself as a U.S. Senator, or a Doctor, or College Professor, or any of another million careers. However, the choices you make today, to "earn a few extra bucks", may come back to cost you terribly, in the future.

I learned a very old adage that I passed on to my daughter (who grew up in the Facebook generation). Never post anything "online", in your real name or with your photo, that your grandmother could not see. It is a good rule to live by.

It does not bother me one bit if someone wants to be a Cam Girl. I wish them well. However, I hope in the long run, they realize and accept that it can have negative consequences.

We shave close. Every day. No "razor burn". The key is a good razor (we like the Gillette Five Blade series) and a good shave Gel. We like Gillette for sensitive skin. We both stay "baby butt smooth" this way, and never have any skin issues.
