LOL, That is tame compared to what I know goes on. I've played safety officer more than once and that stuff can be scary and bloody if you let people free to do as they "truly" please.
What could possibly be wilder than

"I can shock you with a defibrillator, stop your heart, declare you dead then bring you back."

Well, other than torture. OMGawd...not torture???

What do you mean, "believe in marriage"? It exists, so I believe in it.

Do you mean do I support the idea of marriage and what it stands for? Well, that's yet to be seen. I do not see anything wrong with it when other people have marriages.

Well if you want to play it that way.

I'm currently engaged, and although I have yet to see what I'd call a successful marriage (mother's been divorced 3 times, and is in a long-term, committed relationship, but does not want to be married again), I still believe two people can be married and happy. Not everyone can, though and that's perfectly fine; not everyone wants to be married, and not every relationship should result in marriage. It's rare, but I think it can work out. I'm going into my marriage with the expectation that it'll last forever.

I have no good example of a longterm relationship in my life, as well - all of my relatives are either divorced of divorced twice. But I'm engaged now, we've been together for almost 7 years and I feel like we can make it. So far, at least, even though we had our bumps, the road has been relatively smooth and definitely very pleasurable. The wedding is next June and my whole family is extremely skeptical. They do not believe any marriage lasts, so I have a hell of a motivation to prove them wrong

I can assure you that it is indeed possible to enjoy a life together. IMO there is nothing worse than being middle-aged and alone. The thought of singles bars at this age kind of nauseates me

I was lucky, although my parents didn't do well together, my maternal grandparents seemed to get it right. From my observations it seemed that everything was important to both of my parents - so they fought over almost everything.

In contrast, my grandparents seemed to have mastered division of labor/interest. She had her things that she liked to do and considered her responsibility, and he had his. Neither seemed to meddle in the other's 's**t'.

I retain that philosophy today - and my wife is similarly inclined.

There is a stunning the lack of conflict that exists on what will be 30 years in Sept of next year.

Best of luck to you - and stay out of his 's**t'
