Time & Effort for EPS?

Contributor: Kake aka PoeticErotica Kake aka PoeticErotica
How time-consuming do you consider it to be to setup & maintain an EPS? How much effort is needed? How labor-intensive is it? How simple (from what I've read, it sounds pretty easy, but I may be totally off-base)? Also, is the time & effort worth the reward? Do you make the sales you'd like to & are the commissions worth it on the products you sell? Also, what are the best ways to go about advertising your store & generating traffic & sales for it?

Hello Kake,

Thank you for your questions. Here are answers:

How time-consuming do you consider it to be to setup & maintain an EPS?

Setting up EPS on your website is not that time consuming, especially since we offer to set up stores for affiliates. We also offer tutorials to help with some common customization steps, like adding banners and customizing product page text.

The amount of effort in maintaining an EPS is really up to the affiliate.

Adding products is pretty simple: You come to EdenFantasys.com and click a button on the product's page to add it to your store's inventory list. Products are synchronized to your store automatically (once every hour or so) or you can synchronize them manually if you want them to add right then, which is a one-click process.

You can add more products whenever you want, so when we get new items in, you can just add them to your store if you want to carry them. It's up to you if you want to make new banners for different seasons or promotions, or make other changes.

It's a pretty easy setup and maintenance process, and we are available for any questions you have. The general setup goes like this: get a domain and hosting (if you don't already have one), create a database for your store, upload the store files, complete the store wizard setup, and then customize and add products.

We provide setup instructions and we can upload and set up the store files on your host if you would like. We are planning to offer hosting for stores in the near future.

Also, is the time & effort worth the reward? Do you make the sales you'd like to & are the commissions worth it on the products you sell?

This is a question on which we welcome feedback from our EPS affiliates. The commissions are 20% for EPS sales (same as through our affiliate program).

Also, what are the best ways to go about advertising your store & generating traffic & sales for it?

The "best ways" of advertising will vary from store to store. We recommend thinking about who your store is targeting and letting that influence your marketing methods. For example, if your store is on the subdomain of your blog (store.myblog.com) then you might want to attract readers of your blog. Posting about your store on your blog, Twitter feed, or other online profiles can help generate traffic. We offer custom coupons to EPS affiliates to help them promote their stores as well.

You are welcome to email partners@edenfantasys.com with any feedback or other questions.

Setting mine up took a while, but that's because I hosted it myself, was super picky about getting my images in the right place and the right size, and I wanted it all perfectly set before I released it to anyone
