I am quite curious about the cunnilingus guide now...

It touches on everything involved with fellatio I can think of, including both uncircumcised guys and multi-orgasmic guys

I actually just added the cunnilingus guide to my wishlist, it sounds just as awesome as the Fellatio guide!

Awesome! Definitely going to have to pick this one up then.

As far as how-to's go.. I've read them before, but I've found that very few of them have anything new to offer. Looks like this one does, though.

Ms. Blue has done it, or else I'm just a weird guy. Her chapters were broken up into many short sub-sections and written in a style that held my interest pretty well.
Don't think I have heard of that one. I must look into this. Thanks A&M

This is something I want to know more about as well, the multi-orgasmic guy. It's one of the few mysteries left in my sexual exploration.

Does the book cover that at all?

From experience I have found that when giving oral sex to the "man",after coming he is way more sensitive than coming from intercourse. It would be very interesting to know why. Is this topic covered?

It mentions it under the chapter The Anatomy of A Man's Pleasure and also states that a book called The Multi-Orgasmic Man, by Douglas Abrams Arava and Mantak Chia, "revolutionized the way Western men control their orgasms." So, if your specifically looking for information on the multi-orgasmic man that may be a good book to pick up

Whoa. Perfect. Looking it up right now..

I'd think that is one book everyone could get behind!

It's good to know that it's normal. Something most guys don't talk about but as I'm learning happens to em all...it's sad they don't talk about it!

There isn't a specific chapter on uncircumcised men, but Violet does address the issue of cut vs. uncut. She does talk about the physiology of male arousal and references the book The Multi-Orgasmic Man for further information.

My boyfriend is actually naturally multi-orgasmic, though it's also something fairly easily learned. I wouldn't be surprised if there are certain oral techniques that enhance that ability, or use it to its fullest.

Laurel ~ I would consider Violet's guide a good overview of all areas of fellatio. There really isn't any topic she doesn't touch on. And if you have more questions, she provides a very thorough list of references for information!

I actually love reading how-to sex guides. It's amazing how much information can be contained in them. I try to read any one that I can manage to get my hands on.

I honestly haven't read any of Violet Blue's guides. I know I have her Fetish book next up for reading, but I haven't started it quite yet. From flipping through it, it looks like a good book though.

I just wanted to mention that both books include erotic fiction by Alison Tyler, the editor of our previous book club discussion book, Afternoon Delight. Her stories very nicely complement Violet's friendly, informative tone.

I loved the erotic fiction and the pictures included in The Ultimate Guide to Fellatio, I thought they were a nice addition to the book.

The included erotica might be a good way of getting my bf to read the cunnilingus book :p

I previously hadn't seriously considered either book, to be honest, but after reading her Guide to Porn and this discussion I will get both.

I think her guides appeal because they're the kind of books you'll read through once and then go back to later for reminders on specific techniques.

I liked that she included a picture of the different kinds of piercings. I've never dated a guy who was pierced and I didn't really know what the different piercings looked like, but the picture helped clear that up

One aspect of Violet's guides I find particularly interesting is that this isn't the kind of book you hand to your lover and say, "Here! Learn what to do!" It's the kind of book that invites you to start a conversation with your partner, which sections speaking directly to the recipient and offering suggestions on how to make the most of his/her experience.

I find that many "how-to" articles about oral sex (or any kind of sex, really) put all the responsibility for pleasure on the one who is giving oral sex. This makes the act seem like something the giver is "performing" while the recipient is simply a passive participant. Violet addresses oral sex for what it is-- a mutually satisfying experience requiring two active and engaged participants.

Ditto! I don't personally know any pierced men, but I found the information fascinating. I'm sure that just proves some dusty old Freudian theory...

She most certainly is! As a fiction writer and someone who usually chooses a novel over a self-help book, I found the stories in these guides to be creative and inspiring. They're like little mini-desserts after you've gotten the how-to "main course!"
