I find a side to side motion works the best for me. Up and down with small thrusting works good too, I apply pressure on the out stroke and let off on the in stroke-kind of a 'come here' motion.

I own one and love it. I usually just use it to massage inside, thrusting isn't really possible for me with it. It's my go-to toy when i feel like having a lot of pressure on certain spots.

I just checked my order history & I've owned one since April 2011! I only recall using it a couple of times before moving it to my husband's empty nightstand drawer & haven't used it since.
I was out of town this past March & he finally took some time to play - told me he really liked the 'metal wand' - but I don't think he's used it since.
When I get home tonight I'm taking it back!
