Most I have seen shopping around the internet are very long and most thick. Personally that would hurt myself. I have seen some where one side is "smaller" than the other but it seems that would only be able to be used in certain positions. Am I getting this all wrong? Or am I just not looking for the right item?

I am not sure exactly what you had in mind, but right here are a lot of variations of the double ended toy.

I know what you mean! It's hard to find a double-sided toy that isn't super thick. I'm 4'10"... I don't require much. Sadly, I can't think of one to suggest.

California Exotics makes a double ended jelly dildo in a regular size and a slim size. I found the regular to be a pretty standard girth so the slim might be just right for you.
