Toys causing burning/numbing

Contributor: Fiona Fiona
Lately my rabbit vibe (serenity) and bullet are not doing much for me. In fact they are just making everything burn and go numb. Not good. Any advice? Should I try something new? My husband and I are getting frusterated as the toys are the only thing that does (did) anything for me, especially after I had our baby. Even then I wouldn't really classify what the toys did as an orgasim. But it was better then nothing. We have really been working hard to find something that works for me. I honestly feel like I am broken and there is no hope for me. Any suggestions? Thank you!

Well, you've got a lot of questions in one, here! First up, if your toy is causing burning (jelly does this to me), throw it away and don't use that type of material again!

If the vibrations are numbing instead of making you feel good (like this one does for me), then your body needs "rumbly" vibrations instead of "buzzy" vibrations. When you're reading reviews, always watch for when people describe how deep the vibrations are.

Since you know you need something rumbly? I have heard lots of people love Mimi as a clit vibe for its very rumbly vibrations. It is also covered in silicone, which means it is hypoallergenic and shouldn't cause burning. The Vanity line from Jopen is also famous for being very rumbly, but they are more expensive than Je Joue's vibes.

Good luck! Let us know what you're looking at!

If the vibrations are numbing instead of making you feel good ... more
Antipova,
Thank you very much for the informative and helpful reply. I never have thought about the type of vibes but that makes sense. I might be confusing the 'burning' with 'numbing' a bit too because the material of the Serenity and the Bullet are completely different. I have kept going through that feeling before and it did start to feel better but most of the time I just give up.
I have actually been looking g the Mimi, so that great you recommend it. Some oths I've looked at are the We Vibe 3, G-Ki, and some glass dildos. Any thoughts on these?

Ooh, yes. I have the WeVibe 3 and it has very rumbly vibrations---people who have both saay that the WeVibe's top strength is not as strong as Mimi's though.

G-Ki looks like a good choice, and so does Uma. Kira (stainedclear) has a very good comparison review of them up.

And glass dildos? I LOVE glass dildos!

You are not broken! It may take some time, but you'll find something. Best of luck, honey.

If you keep doing the same thing this can cause numbness to the vagina. This can be prevented by doing different things in your sexual routine. My advice would be to take a break from your vibe or get a new one. Also I have heard that estrogen cream applied to the vulva can help kickstart the vagina after kids, might be something to talk about with your doc.
