Are you a twin? Do you believe twins have "special abilities?"

Contributor: K101 K101
I have a twin sister and we were working on an interview about twins this week so I got interested in other twins. Are you one? Do you believe twins have ESP or any kind of special abilities such as feeling each other's pain, etc? Please feel free to share!

My twin and I have had many twincidents (as we call them) so while working on the interview I became interested in other twins and their experiences. It's very hard to find any real information on twins and the way their bond is so extraordinary.

Do you know twins or have any stories or info to share with me? I've only known a few other sets of twins, but would love to hear other's twincidents!

Thanks for your vote.

I am not a twin, I do not believe at all in unique abilities for anyone. So that would include twins.

I'm not a twin, and I don't believe in special abilities. However, the pair I know is unusually close and has a very special connection!

I have a set of twin cousins, one year older than me.

I do think they have something going on. They definitely had their own language. And they could instantly interpret 'looks' they give each other without saying a word - I asked them if they planned on their language or looks, and they said it all just 'happened' and they haven't talked of translations or anything.

Plus they usually had a feeling if one of them was up to something because the other one would always make sure to have an alibi. They're still very close and pull the 'call just when the other's thinking of him' thing.

I am a mother of 4 year old twins. Say my son gets in trouble and I smack his hand, his sister will cry... even if she is in the other room, doesn't hear a thing, and has no idea whats going on... it's really crazy!

Also, if one wakes up in the middle of the night to go potty, it takes the other one about 20 seconds to figure out they are alone and they get right up looking for their brother/sister.

There is no doubt in my mind that there is a special connection there, just by observing them all day everyday.

My dad is a twin. I don't know that they have special abilities, but man they are a lot alike. They talk to each other every day and have most of the same interests and same sense of humor.

I'm not a twin and I don't really have an opinion on the matter. However, twins do run in my family and they skip a generation, so if I have kids, chances are they're coming in a pair. I guess if I do have kids, and they are twins, I can make a conclusion then.

I mean sometimes you meet twins that know each other very well... i blame it on them having grown up always together, not on special powers.

I think all really close siblings have certain things they can do that others wouldn't understand or be able to do. Like finishing each other's sentences easily and stuff. I do that with my siblings.

I'm not a twin, but my mother and I could be. We accidentally wear matching things probably at least once every 2 weeks (even though we live in separate towns), finish each others' sentences/say the same thing at the same time, and are empaths that feel almost every single thing the other is going through. She had a dream once that we were sisters. I just choose to believe we were at some point. You know, past lives and all that jazz.

How neat! That sounds a lot like my twin and I! We have had incidents where things happen like while I was really ill for a good 2 years, she experienced A LOT of my pain and we didn't know anything about the twin incidents until I had to go to the ER one day and she ended up in the SAME ER! The nurse asked if I had a twin and said my twin may be experiencing a case of twin pain. I didn't even know she was there and they found nothing wrong with her. I was suffering severely from endometriosis and had bronchitis, laryngitis and asthma at the time I had to go to the hospital. She showed up with chest pains and unable to breath. They gave her an EKG and nothing! Throughout the entire time I was ill, she had a lot of problems as well. I never thought things like that could happen until the hospital incident and since then, we have things similar, but not as huge happen all the time.

I'm a twin and my brother and we joke that we have "the worst twin powers ever". Stupid things will happen all the time like on Christmas eve we realized we were wearing coordinating outfits (matching jeans and jackets him in a green shirt me in a red one), or we'll both cook the same meal (we live halfway across the country from each other) or have cravings for the same food at the same time. We'll often return each others calls without knowing it, as in one will call and leave a message and then the other call back just because we suddenly felt like talking, not because we realized we'd missed a call. We get the same haircuts by accident sometimes as well.
Nothing that's superhero status but it's still odd.

I have best friends who are twins. One lives in Florida and the other one in Michigan and for my Birthday they had both sent me the same gift not even knowing it. It was so random.

I am a twin! I don't believe twins have ESP or any supernatural type special abilities, but there have been plenty of occurrences where we think or do the same thing, finish eachothers sentences, etc. Sometimes all we have to do is say "remember that one time" and we'll both be like "yeah!!!" and know exactly what the other is talking about while the rest of the people we are with are confused- but I attribute that to similar experiences and that our minds think alike, but not that we can transfer thoughts or anything.

I'm a twin. I think most people overestimate an esp bond between twins, but I do believe they exists. From what I've come across the most common twin esp type of connections are related to early childhood near death experiences in which both twins can see or feel an event that only happens to one.

This has got me curious, what kinds of special abilities? I've never noticed anything but I only know a few twins.
