There has been a rare occasion when I needed to give a toy a second try to know if I really liked it or not, but the vast majority of the time, I know right away.
If I use it well once, I have a sense of what I'll be using it for and how it measures up to my other toys. But for reviews, I always try and use a toy in as many ways as I can think of.
Some toys are able to impress me the first time around, while others need a few more tries. I try to give most toys at least 4 or 5 chances before I decide if it's a dud or not, the exception being if the first try was so incredibly awful that I can't bear to try again (or if the toy manages to break very fast).
More or less. I've had some that I think are ok, and turn out to not work for me, and others that turn out the opposite. It depends on the toy! Most of them are readily apparent whether or not they'll work for me, though.
For my wife, she usually needs 2-3 times before deciding if it's a winner or not. Occasionally she'll love on on first try, but usually she needs to warm up to one first.
to know if I'm going to like it, I can tell right away. To figure out all of the ins and outs of the toy? Unique things or things that I don't like quite so much? That takes a few uses and my opinion has never changed.
I know right away whether or not I'm going to like it. Sometimes I like things a little and start to like them a bit more or vice versa but I know whether it is a win or a fail right away.
