Maybe this is just me, but I have been to a few toy parties since I have been a member of this site and I always leave very unimpressed. This is due to the materials that the toys are made out of, the price, and sometimes incorrect information. I was just wondering if anyone else has gone to a party and felt like a toy "snob" because they didn't offer any higher quality toys and because they overcharge for very cheap materials?
I hope I am not the only one who feels like this lol.

I love Eden as well, my friend had a toy party and I decided to go and the host of the party gave me a ride and talked my ear off about what she thought were good materials and prices. I didn't want to be mean and tell everyone to come shop on Eden but I REALLY wanted to lol.

I've never been to a toy party either. I'm so boring. However, I feel like a toy snob when I go into local adult stores with their "plastic bag" packaging of jelly dongs that are huge. Those things give sex toys a bad name.

A friend of mine was telling me about her toys she recently purchased at a toy party. She was really excited about them and was going on and on about it. I was shocked when she told me how much money she dropped on 2 crappy toys. Even my mom told me that she purchased a bullet for $50 at one of these parties(every time she used it the batteries fell out -- $50 and one speed!!!). Yes, each time I hear a story like this I feel like a toy snob. I told my friend that she really needs to shop Eden instead for quality items that can last longer than toy party items will. I forward my mom links to items on Eden I think she would like.

I have never been to a toy party and I don't think I ever will. I'll stick to Eden!
I feel really bad for people who spend outrageous amounts on shitty toys.

they are way over priced. The sales ladies are not always knowledgeable and sometimes very vanilla. It's there version of selling tupperware. I always thought it was so funny to go to a separate room to place your order in secret.

I always feel like a toy snob. I go if I get invited. I hosted one not long ago because it was in the works for some time. You want to bet I did not leave with crap though. I walked away with the WeVibe, a cute Coquette mini dress from the holiday line and Toko Aqua with my 180$ worth of free product from orders.

I'm such a toy snob that I wouldn't even bother going to a toy party. I have no use for overpriced, crappy "novelty" sex toys and I wouldn't be able to refrain from voicing these opinions. They would end up kicking me out, just to shut me up. Plus, I wouldn't want to risk exposing my true identity as some sort of sex toy super-freak. I prefer to keep my naughty side somewhat of a mystery.

There is a store here in Philly that has ONE sad little peg row of silicone - like 8 items. No glass. No metal. AND, the kicker? They sell the regular Hitachi for $99. No fucking kidding. So, yeah, I feel some "fuck that place" vibes whenever we drive past it.

I tried warning a friend away from one of those parties once and offered to show them around the site last Nov/Dec (2009). I got a "really?" and a dirty look. Afterward, they told me how crappy it was and wanted to check out Eden.

A discussion of a toy party happened near me recently, and I couldn't help but share that the toys at those tended to be less than stellar, although I must admit I lied about the source of my information. My reputation as a hopeless prude must be preserved.

I've never been to a toy party, but I've had that ICK feeling in sex stores in the Dallas area. I'm so happy that I'm in SF right now and have access to great shops like GoodVibrations, as well as EF online. So much better dealing with knowledgeable people.

I have never been to one, but just from what I have seen on their websites and what I have heard from others I know that they sell the same high priced crap as my other local stores. This is why I'm starting my own Home Party business and will only be offering high quality toys and brands I have actually used myself or at the very least have seen positive reviews either here or from bloggers I trust.

My site is already up, but won't be opening for business until I can get the money to buy the vendors permit and etc that I need (Who knew you couldn't just start a business without putting something in first?!)

Yes, please do this. I actually kind of like the idea of a sex toy party, but if it's all gonna be crappy product, I won't bother.

I went to all my parties before I knew about EF & I'll never buy anything from another one again. They're too vanilla, overpriced, and I've never been satisfied by anything I've ever bought regardless of the company.

I haven't been to a sex toy party but it would be hard to beat a site like Eden with all the comments and reviews here. There is SO much more useful information here than you could possibly have at a toy party, unless you just like socializing and having fun talking about sex.
