How did you feel when youbought your first sex toy?

I was a tad nervous, but also very excited. I don't really look my age, either (not without carefully dressing the right way, anyway), so I also got carded, but the lady was very nice about it. My mother had told me about the shop and came in with me while I made my purchase, which was awesome of her since she doesn't use toys (to my knowledge) and probably felt slightly awkward.

After I chose and bought my toy (a very simple traditional plastic vibe), I felt pretty exhilarated, since I'd wanted one for a long time. I never went back for various reasons, but it wasn't a negative experience.

Extremely nervous, I had browsed around a bit at a real store but I couldn't bring myself to just up and buy one. I ended up purchasing through Amazon so it wouldn't be as scary.

And somehow my first time buying from an actual store wasn't so bad, it felt less stressful somehow.

I just bought my first toy (The Slim dildo by Doc Johnson) from this website a few weeks ago. I was very nervous about the shipping and how discreet the box would be, if the mailman would need my signature or what. I live with my parents and family can be very nosy so I was very nervous about it arriving discreetly. It arrived in a large box (larger than it should have been, it was more air and cardboard paper than anything) but overall it went OK. Yeah my family made a huge deal about the mailman knocking on the door and they asked me what was inside (I said they were just some books haha!). I love the feel of the silicone toy and the pretty mint color of it. I haven't been able to use it though. I didn't buy lube! I never thought I would need it, I thought I was "wet enough" but no! It's like the moment I want to use my first sex toy, I'm as dry as a desert and within a few minutes of poking and prodding,I realized it's impossible for me to insert the toy without lube, haha!

My first sex toy purchase was online - here at EF - so my feelings were that the package couldn't get here quickly enough.

Sorry about your first experience in a real store. In our area we a very classy chain. The employees are all helpful and they are from their 20 's to 60 's. Never have we felt uncomfortable there. The 50 something help seems to head straight for us and have always been very helpful, even help my wife last nigjt find a better lube for someone starting menopause. Her advice was great.

soooo embarrased! I went to a sex shop too. It could have been worse though, the clerk was a girl not too much older than me. Two men, ahhh!
