My first sex toy was a round hair brush. (I used the handle of course, the bristles were painful (and yes I did try it once that way)) Pretty gross when I think about it now, but heck I was only 13 and didn't know anything about sex at all.
When I was 17 I bought some bath confetti for the long skinny plastic tube they came in. If my parents only knew :-O
I've also used a vibrating razor as a clit vibe. Of course I took the razor blade off first. I removed a few of my vibrators from the lower compartment so you could see better. The tacklebox was less than $10--I think it was around $7 at Wal-Mart--and tackleboxes come in a variety of sizes, so it's cheap and effective toy storage. As you can see, I use the top shelf for batteries, lubes, and cleaners, and I use the body of the tacklebox to hold my toys...when I get a bigger tacklebox, I'll be sure to get one with a couple of extra levels for more toy storage. =) Reply

I once made myself a toy out of foodsafe (and I assumed bodysafe) polymer clay which when cured is essentially a hard plastic.
