Long story short, a friend of mine, through an ordering hiccup, accidentally ended up with two of these and offered one to me. Well of course I said yes, but I felt a little bad getting such an expensive toy for free. So I thought, "Hey, I've got some dildos that aren't working out for me, so maybe she'd like them!" And thus a gifting became a trade. It was really fun talking toys with her while we boiled the ones I was giving her.

Has anyone else ever traded/gifted/received a toy in this way?

If the toy has been sterilized I don't see much of a problem with it, granted the toy is working (if it has a motor in it). Oh, and if I know the person I'm trading with doesn't... have anything. I feel like I'm being tacky and inconsiderate saying that for some reason.

Hardly! It's good that you're looking out for your own health. And I'm the same. If I knew the person had something, I'd decline too (politely, of course). I know boiling is supposed to make a toy completely clean, but the nagging worry would always be there.

That is not, of course, to say I'd reject a potential boyfriend just because he had something - we'd just have to be cautious. But I don't wanna be cautious with my toys. I guess I'm just impatient that way.

You should have made ticky-boxes instead of radio buttons.

I've traded (STERILIZABLE ONLY) toys, and I've also given some away. Some as gifts (where I ordered and had gifts shipped to the recipients' homes), and others where it was a sterilizable toy and someone else I knew would get more use out of it than me.

Yeah, I only realized after I submitted the poll (and thus couldn't modify it) that I'd made it single-choice. Sorry about that.

I did have a friend who offered me a pair of vibrating panties. I declined cause I knew there was really no way to sterilize them and I knew how unclean she was..

I've received new toys as a gift, but have never traded, or given a used (sanitized) toy to anyone. I don't think I'd have an issue with it, as long as the toy was sanitized thoroughly.

I've traded toys several times and have been pleased with the transaction every time - but once. The time I wasn't happy, it had nothing to do with the transaction - the toy I traded for just sucked. I didn't bother to re-trade it, just threw it away.

I have a small group of toys that I would be willing to sell or give away. But the only friends I have that are open to toys don't want those specific ones. I'll need to find another way to unload them.

I got my Goliath from a really good friend who said it was too big and they didn't use it much, yay for easy to clean/sterilize silicone! I've only given brand new toys to my friends.

I have given used but sterilized toys to girlfriends and we have also just used each others toys to try them out. If a toy is sterilized, it really doesn't bother me.

I would definitely prefer to have new toys rather than traded ones. Might feel differently with something like glass or metal...but in general I wouldn't give someone a toy I didn't like and if I liked a toy I would just keep it and give them a new one!

Update: Well, the shape of the Bubbles is a little too awkward for me to easily use internally, but HOLY FUCKWAGONS if it isn't one of the best vibes I've ever used clitorally!!!

I started laughing. Those are JR's cats!

I wasn't aware we have a forum ghost, either.

Maybe it's Anias Nin.

Anyway. I've never accepted nor given away a toy that someone else owned. I've been gifted toys from My Man and a friend, but not anything used.
