It used to be that porn was always made with a low budget, poor lighting, minimal props and tacky décor. And then things changed. When movies like Pirates and Chemistry came out, it became clear that porn could be every bit the high budget extravaganza as the Hollywood blockbusters were. You'll be pleased to hear that the latest release in this porn blockbuster category, Fallen, picks up the torch right where the others left it.

Fallen is packaged in an 8.5 by 11 inch box which has three panels with hints of what's to come inside. It's a three disc collection and for good reason—you're getting a whole lot of sex in this purchase. I have to start with a disclaimer—I haven't in fact watched all the footage on this movie. That's because the package contains an immense amount, with a full six hours of bonus footage on top of a movie that's a couple hours long. That's a lot of sex. If you were wondering, this porn has no shortage of the following: Penises pounding vaginas. Cum shots. Anal sex. Huge tits. Orgasms. Okay? So don't fret—there's plenty. Know what else it has? Condoms! Because safe sex is great sex. There are scenes with a variety of actors, and actresses, though by far the face (and, ahem, other things) you'll see most often is that of the star, Jessica Drake. Drake does a generally good job; her acting in and out of bed isn't anything to write home about but is good enough if you've got a reasonable ability to suspend disbelief.

One of my favorite parts of this porn was its flexibility. Not only were there a variety of scenes to choose from, from boy-girl sex, to girl-girl sex to seventeen girls and fourteen boys sex, but within each scene, you could pick your audio track, choosing between one with sex sounds and music, or either of the two. So for all you people who hate the background music? A click and it's gone. For those of you who really could do without the grunting and sometimes-fake-sounding orgasm noises? Gone! A brilliant option. Another feature I loved was that the scene-forward button on the remote didn't bring you to the next scene but just to the next sex act. This was really convenient in cases where, say, I was ready to be done with the blowjob but didn't want to leave the sex altogether. Also, you can pick your own ending!

My only criticism was that, though the film portrayed a variety of actresses and actors, it still is likely to appeal only to those who want blonde, white, women with big, fake breasts and shaved pussies. As someone who goes for women who look a variety of ways, I was frustrated that all of the women in this fit that description.

The film's music was well done, with each scene's music matched to its mood. It included a variety of genres, from rock music during plot developing bike rides to grunge in a dungeon orgy scene. Yep—a dungeon orgy scene. By far the longest sex scene in the movie was a massive orgy scene in a dungeon. Although BDSM fans won't find any spreaders or paddles, the scene nonetheless exuded power dynamics effectively. And the bonus disc? Yeah, it contains a fifty minute extended version of the orgy. Just in case you were worried that the half hour included in the movie missed some critical moments.

The plot of Fallen was reasonable without being entirely predictable. In fifteen words, it's about an angel who has her wings clipped and falls in with a seedy underground crowd before meeting a mortal who intrigues her and motivates her to behave. It was nicely developed and I appreciated that the director devoted real time to it, using it for more than just introducing sex. Scenes like one in which Drake and her love interest dance at a jazz scene provided worthwhile buildup and made the sex between them even hotter. It seemed to pick up on a trend in porn to provide more plot than historically porn has included, and though the actors weren't the best, the tension built by plot scenes made the sex hotter.

So, in summary: lots of hot sex, lots of fun options, enough plot development to hold your attention and a whole lot of flexibility. Let the angels sing Fallen's praises.
