Blockbuster Pack by Wicked Pictures - review by Starlight Requiem

Space Nuts (4/5)
This 3-hour romp through space is definitely the best of the three features. It has an excellent balance of story and sex, and I was thoroughly entertained. Some might find themselves skipping the sex scenes just to laugh at the hilarity of the other parts. This is what you get when you mix hardcore sex with Space Ballz and Star Wars, and a tiny bit of Star Trek for flavor.

Of course, it's not a perfect film. One disappointing feature I found was that the majority of sex in this is between simply a white man and woman. There is very little diversity here. After all, it is a movie about space. Where are all the sexy alien females??

I counted three in the film. Two, a blue chick and a girl with horns, do have sex scenes. While the third is a cat-woman who only acts as background material. Overall the sex itself can be repetitious. It usually boils down to...blowjob, vaginal insertion over one or two positions, facial cumshot. There was perhaps one scene where it was a cumshot on the breasts instead. But really that was it.

Conquest (3/5)
This lusty pirate film was somewhat humorous, but sets itself in more of a serious tone. Some of the acting is a bit overdone, as is some of the script. It's like they are trying to force the fact that it is pirates, by using every stereotypical pirate one-liner they can find.

This one leans more towards sex than story. A lot of the time there will be two to three scenes where the sex comes back to back, with little to no story in between. Which was honestly a bit of a let down after watching how well Space Nuts was made. I had hoped for better.

On a positive note, the sex is more varied in this one. You get pirate orgies, unprotected anal, even a cumshot on a girl's labia. So that makes up for the lack of story, in a way.

Curse Eternal (4/5)
The last film is based around the mummy-genre. There are a few similarities with the recent mummy trilogy, though I think there are more with some of the older ones. The costumes and props in this one are just gorgeous. This one sits between the others in terms of story. While not as captivating as Space Nuts, there is definitely more story here than in Conquest.

The sex is rather nice here as well. There is anal in this one, and the scenes are greatly varied. Numerous outdoor takes, as well as group scenes to keep you interested.

The Bonus Disc
The fourth disc in this set is simply to advertise other videos done by Wicked. It does feature a few sex scenes of it's own, so it's worth hanging onto and not just tossing it in the trash.

My Thoughts
Overall, I'm really happy with this set. They are all fairly good titles. However they all suffer from roughly the same problem. Volume control. While it's a given that the scenes were filmed at different times, sometimes it is blatantly obvious. In Space Nuts, one minute you are watching story, then the screen flickers a bit as you shift to the sex. The volume is about 50% louder during the sex scenes in all three films. So if you are trying to watch discreetly, this can be a problem.

In general, the price is a bit steep, I think. Usually when I think of a collection like this, I think of video games. Where the company releases a box of 2-5 games a few years after they are released, for a lower price. With this set, it's still about $17 per DVD.
