Cabaret Desire by Lust Films - review by Tuesday

Let me start by saying that I did not watch the entire movie. The film stopped playing eight minutes before it ended. I tried numerous times over the course of several days to see those last few minutes, but without success. I tried downloading the movie, but that turned out to be a very slow process. Apparently it only downloads in high resolution. I tried playing just the last scene by clicking on the link to it that appears below the main movie. But that just loads a trailer for that scene. I tried repeatedly playing the entire movie, but it never again reached even the point I was at the first time even though I set the movie to the lowest quality.

I admit that I've been experiencing a slow Internet connection lately. It's unfortunate that this happened during the window when this film was available to me. Just be advised that if you sometimes have a problematic Internet connection speed, you might have trouble with Lust Cinema movies too.

This film begins in a brothel where a sexy man dances with a stripper pole as the audience, seated in upholstered chairs, watches. At this event, the audience is free to pay to have erotic stories read to them. Four such stories are told in this film.

The Two Alexes:
Sofia dates a man and a woman, each named Alex. They date happily at first, with Sofia participating in the same activities with each of them, but separately. The sex scenes in this story are good, although I do wish there was more toy use in the girl-girl scenes.

My Mother:
In this story, a man describes his mother, an artist who dons a cat suit, breaks into people's homes to steal art, first edition books and other valuables. Finally she breaks into the home of an author she particularly likes. The son spends a long time trying to figure out what she stole from that author. Eventually he realizes what it was.

I found this story and the female protagonist to be creepy. I was unable to suspend disbelief. If a scary looking woman in a cat suit breaks into your house and manages to tie you down, I don't believe it would be possible for you to respond to her sexually. At one point she has scissors in her hand as she walks towards him. Seconds later she's going down on him and he instantly responds. Anyone would be too frightened in this situation. If she didn't look so creepy I could have gone along with it, but I just couldn't get past that. Perhaps if you're into sex scenes with an element of fear, this one will appeal to you.

In Wonderland:
This story is told to several people. In it, a woman's friends surprise her with a mysterious trip where she can have sex with a man she's been attracted to for a long time. She is blindfolded and taken by motorcycle to a location, then left there. She enters what appears to be an empty warehouse. I would have been uneasy and would have called my friends to ask what was going on. The actress in this film is less concerned and takes an elevator to the second floor, where there is a bed on the floor, white sheets hung attractively all around, and the lover she has been fantasizing about, ready for her. This couple seemed to be quite into their scene, which was enjoyable to watch. Although it didn't include anything particularly different, the scene seemed quite natural.

Again the practical part of me interfered with my enjoyment of this scene. She says she has been attracted to him for a long time, yet apparently nothing has happened between them until the birthday arrangement. Did her friends pay this man to be with her? Did that not cross her mind? That would ruin it for me if I were in her shoes.

Wet Sheets:
A couple, who had met years ago for a few days of passionate sex, arrange to meet again. But the man is late. The woman waits in a bar for him. As we see each of them make their way to the bar, we are shown flashbacks of those passionate days years ago. Do they connect again? You'll need a better Internet connection than I have to find out.

While I liked the creativity in this film, which really was exemplary, I didn't find any of the scenes to be something I would want to watch a second time. This film was much nicer than typical mainstream porn, but something which I can't quite put my finger on was missing for me.

I might be inclined to give this movie three stars for the sex scenes, but it definitely earns points for creativity so I'm rating it four stars.
