Debbie loves Dallas by Vivid Alt - review by Maiden

A few years back, a friend of mine made me watch an episode from a reality series about the remaking of the classic porn film "Debbie Does Dallas". Vivid wanted to remake this movie and they had to choose who to direct it. Unable to decide between two directors, Vivid ultimately decided to do two remakes of the classic. One was more like the original, in which "Debbie" is a cheerleader, and there are lots of other cheerleaders. The second was Eon Mckai's "Debbie LOVES Dallas". You won't find any cheerleaders in this movie, save one VERY short scene in the beginning, where all the girls are wearing black cheerleader outfits for a music video.

Eon McKai had an "alternative" vision for the new "Debbie", one that was totally different in plot summary and overall look. In his version, Debbie isn't a cheerleader at all. She is a groupie who loves the band "Dallas", especially the lead singer. The actors are not your average porn stars. There are no fake tits, no fake tans, and no typical looking porno guys. Tattoos and piercings are seen, though not in off-putting abundance, as well as what some would describe as "punk rock" hair dos and outfits. The over all look and feel to this movie is completely different as well. More realistic scenes and settings, better music, and interesting (almost what some would call "artsy") camera angles and vignettes. This movie is where Vivid Alt. was born.

It is hard for me to describe how Vivid Alt. is different. "Girls Lie" was described as "Neo Realistic Smut", though there was no such description on "Debbie LOVES Dallas". I don't know a lot about porn, film making, or directors. I am not someone who watches a lot of porn and for a while, I stopped altogether because I was bored of it. Watching that reality show opened up my eyes to a different type of porn, one that was exciting for me and new and like nothing I had ever seen. I am not saying that porn of this type hadn't been done before, but I had never seen it. Sure, there were a few I had seen with tattooed and pierced women, but that is not all that Vivid Alt. is about. It's definitely something you should check out if you are tired of the same old porn like I was. After watching that show, I immediately got online and looked up Vivid Alt. and found one of my favorite porno films of all time "Girls Lie". Since seeing that film, I have seen many more of Vivid Alt.'s movies, but ironically, had not seen the first one at all. After doing my review on "Girl's Lie" , I decided that I should at least see the movie where it all began, and I am glad that I did.

I really enjoyed this movie, though it wasn't as good to me as "Girls Lie". My man and I had some really hot sex after and during watching it. Like most good porn, we had to go back and watch it again during the parts we missed. I would recommend it to anyone who likes alt porn, or anyone who is ready to try something different. We plan on playing it at our next "Play" party, muting it and popping the cd in for the music. It will make a great back drop to the type of parties we like to throw, and I am sure our friends will enjoy it.

The running time is 1 hour and 58 minutes. It is a 3 disk set that includes a bonus disk and a CD soundtrack. To quote the back cover;

"Alt porn starlets Charlotte Stokely, Dana DeArmond, and Pixie Pearl are joined by Vivid Bad girl Cassidey with a special appearance from Monique Alexander and adult film legend FJ Lincoln and 2006 AVN award-winning Best Newcomer Tommy Pistol. "

Now, I know the first three, as they are in "Girls Lie". They are very sexy and I love them all. Cassidey is the only darker skinned woman in this movie and she stands out from all the other pale skinned alt girls. She plays Debbie in this movie, and Monique Alexander plays Debbie in "Debbie Does Dallas... Again." In one group girl scene you get to see both "Debbies" go at it with a nice side of Pixie Pearl thrown in there as well. I don't usually go for strictly girl girl scenes, as I miss the cock after a while, but this scene was actually pretty hot, due mostly (for me anyway) to the aggressiveness you see and hear from Cassidey. As for the other scenes, there are typical positions and scenarios with a different edge to them than normal porn. There is a lot of dirty talk and aggressiveness, which I like as well as great blow job scenes where the girls REALLY know how to swallow a cock!. There are a few guy girl scenes, one girls only scene, and one group sex scene that has two girls three guys. There is only one time in the whole movie where they cut away for a few minutes in the middle of the action, which annoys me to no end. There is a LOT of this in Vivid movies, so thankfully, this only happened the once.

The bonus disk is okay, though honestly, I didn't find it very interesting, other than the short film. They actually have the unabridged movie script in PDF format...so... yeah, I was like WTF? Do people really care? Oh well, I guess some one might think this is cool. The cd soundtrack is pretty cool, if you like "synth-pop" and the band is actually named Dallas. The DVD case is just paper board wrapped around a plastic inner part to hold the DVDs. The CD has its own paper board sleeve/envelope that slides into a slit in the front flap. The screen shots on the back are really hot and the art work and layout is really cool. I love the look of it.

I know that this is a bit early for a follow up, but on DVDs, there really isn't much more to say about them. I can say that this one has become a favorite of mine, if only for the group scene. I love Dana DeArmond and when I get the urge to see a group scene, I go to this one. That is not to say that I don't enjoy the rest of the movie as well, it's just that this one scene in particular keeps bringing me back.
