Penny Flame's Guide to Rough Sex - dvd by Vivid - review by Beautiful Dreamer

I’m into rough sex. Biting, slapping, choking, pulling hair, dirty talk: count me in. So when I that Vivid was releasing a Rough Sex DVD directed by Penny Flame and shot by Tristan Taormino: I knew I had to get this.

The DVD starts with short interviews about how the performers all genuinely enjoy rough sex- something important in any adult DVD. This carries throughout the DVD- you can really tell all partners are truly into it. After a short intro from Penny, they go over the fact that Rough sex involves a lot of communication and a lot of trust. It isn’t about violence, abuse, or force: this is important to me that this was addressed.

Safe words are gone over: Red, Mercy, Red light are all mentioned. Penny reminds us to make sure to take off all jewelry before sex- something I can personally attest to (a solitaire to the face hurts). She also goes over the importance of hydration (protect those kidneys!) and safety with bondage. I wish they would have gone over choking right with the rest of the educational portion of this DVD. The choking demonstration is in the bonus area.

The beginning segment is very basic, but even for more experienced people, it’s a good watch, though I probably won’t watch it again. It’s fun, yet educational. It’s about 15 minutes long, so not so long that you get bored. Mia, the assistant, is very hot and the fun chemistry between her and Penny makes it more enjoyable.

The first scene starts with interviews with both people participating. I think this is excellent as rough sex requires knowing each other, trusting each other, and communicating. We can see where each participant is coming from. And now for the good stuff- the actual sex rocks in this DVD. It’s refreshing to see couples go at it like I do in my bedroom. You can watch the scenes with or without instruction.

There are some scenes I don’t care for- rough blow jobs being one of them. But others may enjoy these. If you are someone who likes rough sex or are curious, this is definitely a good choice as there are three different scenes and as well as a short bonus scene. This DVD is lacking in a scene that both partners are rough with each other, rather than just one being the more dominant.

The fact there is a condom over the Hitachi is priceless, as condoms aren’t actually used during the scenes. They do have a safer sex tid bit hidden in the bonus features, though it seems odd that it’s there as the DVD doesn’t practice what it preaches. The actually information given for the safe sex piece is good though. It’s one of the few places I’ve seen safer oral sex, rimming, hand jobs, and fingering promoted and demonstrated, so bonus points. AND they went over safe sex practices with toys.
