Fun With Chick & Jane by Wicked Pictures - review by Starlight Requiem

As the title suggests, there are a lot of women in this film. Over 60 actresses. With over 16 hours of steamy lesbian sex, you'd better stock up on the ice for sore parts of the body.

The Package
The DVD case is standard size. I was expecting it to be larger, but they have parts of it raised inside to hold the 4 discs. This wouldn't have been my preferred method, and raises concerns about scratches and the discs rubbing against one another. On the outside is a box, with a little flap on the front that opens to reveal previews of all the action contained on the discs inside. The back features a listing of most of the women present in the scenes.

About the DVDs
One of the bad things about this compilation pack is the fact that, while it has a decent length, the scenes themselves are very short. Wank material is probably the best description available, given that the scenes are generally about 10 minutes apiece.

Without having the original scene from wherever it was taken, I can't be certain, but it feels as if the scenes have been edited into sort of Frankenstein in order for them all to fit on these discs. There is very little in the way of foreplay on most of them. Some pop right into oral sex as soon as the scene begins.

Is this a good thing though? Personally I don't think so. They could have released a 40-scene 16-hour film just as easily, and had each of the scenes last about 20 minutes. That would have definitely been an improvement in my book. I suppose that they thought that if they swamped us with enough mediocre lesbian sex, the film would be more successful.

The second irritant is that some of the scenes contain men. While it's only 3 out of the 86, it feels like those scenes shouldn't be involved. I suppose the only consolation is that the men don't actually have sex with the girls. Honestly, who wants to masturbate to a lovely woman licking another woman, being so close to orgasm, and suddenly there is this nerdy looking creep's face on the screen as he watches the two girls go at it. Total mood killer.

The Ladies
I mentioned before about the mediocrity of some of the scenes, and that is no lie. More than a few of them seem tired and rather stale. Where this film shines is the gem-scenes hidden here and there across each of the DVDs. While the bulk of the scenes are the traditional porn standby of sex in a bedroom or living room set, these scenes have unique locations and costumes. Yummy.

In taking notes about these particular scenes, I came across most of the traditional male fantasies, and possibly some female ones as well. Whether it's sex outside, in a dungeon setting, bathroom, spaceship, prison, parking lot, hot tub, or at the car wash, these scenes are definitely a cut above the others.

As important as the settings are the costumes. With these, there is something for everyone. Whether you want a hillbilly or farmgirl, policewoman, maid, nurse, ballerina, showgirl, a girl from the 50s, even colonial wenches, lesbians in Ancient Greece, and a cowgirl from the old west make appearances. Nearly 20 scenes worth of these delightful costumes make me wish that the film only had these scenes, and that they were extended.

The girls range across the board in appearance. Blondes, redheads, brunettes, and raven-haired beauties are all here. The breast sizes vary just as widely, and there is even a variety in the type/styling of the girls pubic hair. Shaved or some variety of trimmed (no really hairy girls here!), whatever your fancy, you will probably come across it.

The only downside with the girls is that the bulk of them are white girls. I don't know much about Wicked's selection of girls, but it would have been nice to see some differences in skin color. But there is little in the way of interracial sex here, aside from a few scenes with an Asian girl.

The Lights and the Camera
It's rather difficult to give an accurate view of these things, given the sheer number of scenes, and the fact that they come from different videos originally. Some of the scenes are brighter than others, but in general none of them were so dark or bright as to be considered bad. Similarly, the camera work is adequate, given that most of the scenes feel edited, so the poorer quality parts were probably left on the cutting room floor.

My experience is somewhat mixed. I absolutely love the scenes with costumes and unusual settings. They were really good and enjoyable, however, the bulk of the scenes are traditional porn in design. By this I mean two girls naked and having sex on a standard set.

It's funny because the title of the scene is given, likely as a way to encourage purchase of the original video. When comparing the title to the contents of the scene, 9 out of 10 cases has the title sounding a lot hotter than the content of the scene itself.

I took points off for the shortness of the scenes in general and the men that appeared in some. While some might be more lenient, lesbian porn should not have men involved, even if it's just a brief appearance at the start. It also sure as hell it shouldn't cut from a shot of licking pussy to a man's face.
