This is a great porno to watch alone or for a laugh with friends, as it can be both serious and funny. The story-line is interesting enough that it won't intimidate shy people. This makes it a great film to introduce a lover to porn-watching as a couple.

The Trailer
The original trailer for the film came out just before the film, in 1978. It contains tiny clips of each cheerleader's "money-earning."

Herschel Savage
Herschel Savage bores and disgusts me. He tells all his stories in the hopes of impressing the audience. His interview is full of sexist, racist and homophobic comments. He tells a story about being approached by a gay man and angrily replying that he is "not that way." This might be a bonus on the DVD, but I will never watch these interviews again after this review.

Softcore Film
This is an hour-long film that uses all the softcore shots from the original. Twenty minutes shorter than the hardcore version, this film keeps all of the fun and flirty attitude of the XXX film. This version would be fun to watch with friends (really close friends) or even as a fun background to a party.

Hardcore XXX Film
The film starts out with the cheerleaders all discussing Debbie’s plans to go to Texas. She explains to them that her parents won't give her travel money. The girls are disappointed and start thinking of ways to help her out. The plot is extremely believable and the acting seems very natural. The girls all look like the typical 'girl-next-door' and don't have fake boobs or spray tans like today's porn stars. I found this extremely refreshing!

The girls apply to individual jobs at a record store, a candle shop and a sports shop. Each girl seems to genuinely believe they can make enough money at these jobs in two weeks to travel to Dallas.

The football players become upset that all the cheerleaders' time is being spent at their new jobs. So a large group of them visit the girls' locker room where they and two girls have a group sex scene in the showers. Of course, funky seventies music plays the whole scene. This film is so obviously a classic with the huge bushes of the cheerleaders and the absolute disregard of condoms. This scene is obviously well-shot with various cameras and great lighting. The lighting and camera angles used here is very tasteful. It is shot like a normal feature film with excellent settings and professional acting. Some awkward camera angles in this scene include the unavoidable close-up of the hairy actors' balls. There were too many blowjobs in this scene for me.

After this scene Mr. Greenfield pays Debbie ten dollars to look at her tits, then pays more to touch and suck them. This initial payment allows the girls to realize they can profit from the men they work for.

The scene that follows is the threesome between Roberta (Christie Ford) and the Hardwicks (Robin Byrd and Eric Edwards). The Hardwicks catch Roberta masturbating with a candlestick, "is this what we are paying you for?" The next threesome scene is between Mr. Bradley (David Pierce) and the two cheerleaders who wash his car. This scene finishes with his wife's car pulling in the driveway. This adds a little humor and reality to this perfect fantasy.

Then we have a softcore bit between Donna (Merle Michaels) and her boyfriend whom she gives her "first ever" blowjob to. This scene felt a little forced to me and when Mr. Biddle (Jake Teague) the librarian caught them, I was relieved the scene was over. Mr. Biddle takes Donna to the office and spanks her for being bad. This spanking scene is wonderful but I honestly feel a little creeped out by Mr. Biddle. His weirdness may or may not add to the overall "naughtiness" of the scene.

Lisa (Georgette Sanders) plays the gorgeous tennis-loving cheerleader who never wears underwear, and has the third threesome of the film with two men from the tennis club. There is so much hair in this scene! I am used to newer porns with shaved or waxed bodies.

Debbie's one and only sex scene occurs with Mr. Greenfield towards the end of the film: "Oh, Mr. Greenfield, you're so big!" Bambi Woods hasn't been in any films since and rumors of her death are unconfirmed. This mystery surrounding the film adds to the film's classic vibe.

Packaging

The case of the film is beautiful. It is a classic dove white case with a drawing of Debbie wearing her Dallas Cheerleaders outfit. The cover makes this one movie you can keep out without anyone suspecting it's porn. Because Debbie Does Dallas is such a popular film I think you might find it isn't extremely discrete, but the kids won't know this is a porn if they stumble across it.

The case highlights the fact that this is the 30th anniversary collector’s edition.

I was impressed by the excellent lighting, dialogue and chemistry between the characters. This film has an actual storyline that is not cheesy or overdone. The acting seems genuine, and unlike some other porns the storyline is actually plausible. Personally I loved this film and was surprised at the quality and all the extra features these two discs offer.

This movie is not just porn, it is a classic. Containing softcore BDSM, blowjobs, threesomes, and mild fetish this porn gave me a lot of "bang" for my buck. It was shot well, the disc includes many features, and although it is older it can still turn a girl on!

This movie is a classic, and I have shown it to many friends who have never seen a porn (weirdos right?). It's a great softcore-ish film, and I recommend it to everyone!
