I’ve Never… A Game of Truth sounded interesting from the minute I opened it. It reminded me of an adult board game version of the middle school game Truth or Dare that we have all played at one time or another.

It seemed like the game would be more interesting with the more players you have, so I grabbed some liquor, invited some friends over, and broke out the game. Let’s just say that it lead to a very interesting night. The directions gave us many different variations of play and different rule ideas to go by.

We decided just to follow the first variation, which was very simple. Just roll the dice, and move your piece, trying to be the first one to the finish while trying to avoid getting completely inebriated. If you land on a draw a card space, you have to answer the question on the card with true or false. If it’s true, you have to give all the dirty details; if it’s false, you have to take a drink. All of the questions were on the naughty side, which made it more interesting than your every day run of the mill truth or dare game. The more you drank, the more open you became with the answers. I learned more about my friends (and my husband) than I ever wanted or needed to know.

The game was definitely more fun when it was a group of people playing versus just two. My husband and I tried playing it with just the two of us, and it got boring pretty quick—so open-minded friends are a definite for this game. Everyone that I invited over that night seemed to enjoy I’ve Never…A Game of Truth, and one friend asked me to bring it to their upcoming party since she enjoyed it so much. I give this game a four star rating and will definitely be breaking it out again at parties.
