When I did not end up using these for a bachelorette party, I used them to amuse myself! I always need ice. I can't drink anything unless it is super cold. I even prefer cold coffee drinks over a steaming cup of Joe. My boyfriend however, well, he refuses to use ice. His reason makes sense. I'll admit it is valid. He likes making his drinks colder too, but not at the expense of watering down his drink once the ice melts. Solution? -Plastic penis shapes filled with water that freezes!

This phallic and whimsical, six piece set of Pecker Party Coolers from California Exotics can be used over and over again to cool any drink. Use them at a bachelorette party, a theme party, on your own, or for a fun drop in surprise on innocent bar goers (although, they would probably melt first).

So...what the heck are these, and how do they work exactly?: The design is super simple. This set comes with six Pecker Party Coolers in total, two of each color: green, orange, and yellow. Personally, I am not a fan of the colors, but oh well. They are made of smooth plastic. Each is about 1 7/8" long and 1 1/4" wide if you go from the bottom of the lowest testicle to the top of the shaft. The phallic shape is very simple. There are no indents or hairs as details. I am kind of happy about this.

Inside each mini pecker is a liquid (my guess is a treated water so it does not grow stuff). When they are placed inside a freezer, the liquid freezes in less than an hour. When you put it in a drink, it acts like an ice cube in that it cools your drink and the liquid does melt. But instead of increasing the water content of your drink and watering it down, it melts inside the plastic and does not change your drink's taste at all! Problem solved. You can use as many or as little as you like. They do seem to melt fairly quickly though, even in an already cold beverage. For this reason, I alternate sets of twos. For the environmentally conscious, I suppose you are preserving water even though you are consuming plastic.

How well do they work?: I think they might melt faster than ice cubes since they are smaller, but I feel they work just as well if you use more than one for a typical 8 ounce glass.

Cleaning? I have yet to put these through a dishwasher. I really think they would melt. The plastic does not feel to be of high quality. I clean mine with water, simply by rinsing them and using soap if needed. You can leave them sitting in your freezer for an unlimited amount of time prior to use. No harm done!

Packaging: They come attached to a cardboard backing, nothing special or reusable. It makes a funny gag gift presented this way.

Seeing the look on my partner's face when he figured out what the floating orange thing in his orange soda was...priceless! He honestly did not complain after I explained how they worked and uses them occasionally if I don't get to them first! I just wish there were more than six, better color choices, and perhaps a larger size.

I am still using these little peckers on a weekly basis, if not more. They have had no holes, leaks, or freezer smell added to them. I can't imagine that they will last forever because plastic breaks down, but for now, they are still holding on strong.
