More Cheesy Than Steamy

The easy to store, high quality package is alluring and the cards are great quality with pretty pictures and easy instructions. But the games are lacking in substance. This game seemed more cheesy than steamy. It would probably be enjoyed more by a couple that is getting to know eachother than an experienced couple.

Purpose / Audience

This game is intended for couples but I would like to stress that this game is not so steamy for more experienced couples that are past the getting to know eachother phase in their relationship.

This game would be great for a couple that is still trying to get to know eachother sexually or would like to break the ice in a fun, playful way.

Rules / Content

Cosmo's Steamy Sex Games is made for couples. However, this game is much better suited for new couples or couples that are getting to know eachother.

There are easy to follow instructions included as well as 12 different games. The games included are:

Dirty Truth or Dare (I'm sure you can figure this one out)

Sexy Scavenger Hunt (Food play with your partner)

Call of the Wild (Cosmo's spin on Kama Sutra, this game has you try "new" positions)

A Night of Naughty Adventure (This game gives you ideas for an evening of naughtyness)

Finish the Fantasy (this game allows you to find out each other's fantasies)

Dicey Discovery (a dice game for exploring each other's body parts)

Titillating Trivia (questions about your sex life complete with penalties and rewards)

Get Him Hot Game (this one is pretty self explanatory!)

The Cosmo Carnal Challenge (a week-long game of new challenges to try daily with your partner)

Daring Dice (finally one for the ladies! a dice game leading to timed pleasure)

Sexy Tarot Cards (cute tarot cards that are supposed to tell you his sexual cravings and his sexual nature, there are no tarot cards for the ladies!)

A Week of Passion Prop Play (a week's worth of "new" scenarios using props)

Each game is unique and some are steamier than others. You will need a pair of dice and certain other props for most of these games so you may want to look them over before busting this baby out.

Design

Cosmo is definitely great at luring you in with bright, cute packaging. The cards fit neatly in the box, which was be opened with the magnetic side tab or the ribbon pull tab on top. The box itself is sturdy and high-quality, allowing it to be great for traveling or storing away.

The cards are great quality as well: glossy and thick. The cover pictures are also very fun, with the instructions on the back on the card.

The best part of this card game is how it's put together.

Experience

As I said, this game is better suited for newer couples. Considering I have been with my boyfriend for years, this game seemed a little bit cheesy. We would probably have much steamier sexual encounters without these cards.

I liked the idea of this game, and some of them gave us some great new inspiration, but most of it seemed redundant for an experienced couple. All in all, not a bad game. But for us, we felt a little more silly than steamy while playing these games.
Follow-up commentary
I've tried playing this game one more time. I really wanted to like Cosmo's games. But despite the name, these cards are lacking in the "steamy" and "sex" departments. For me, this game puts us more out of the mood than in it.

    • I love how you can play this game with things you have lying around the hosue like oven mitts and ice cubes! Having to spend additional money on more items to play the game after you had to pay for the game is a major turn off!
    • Agreed! The only thing we have really had to buy are small things like whipped cream, champagne, or chocolate sauce.
