Romance 2nite door pillow - sensual kit discontinued by Sportsheets - review by Airen Wolf

One night Arch and I were playing around in the bedroom. We were hot and heavy and suddenly we were interrupted by a surprised Sigel who had thought we were just sleeping. Now, as you can imagine, none of us mind when the other partner wanders in but it can be a bit awkward. I thought about using a handkerchief tied around the door to signal that something sexy is going on but I caught sight of this cute little pillow door hanger.

The Romance 2night Door Pillow from Sportsheets is perfect to signal you are looking for romance or to warn others that you are in the middle of the sexy stuff. It's a great non-threatening way to say 'Do Not Disturb'. It can be a fun and flirty way of asking for some romance as well! We have left it on each other's pillow or on each other's desk. One night I put on some slinky lingerie and tied the door hanger into the bow on the dressing gown tie. That was a great little invitation that Sigel happily acted on!
This could be perfect for roommates in college (or out) to let everyone know that something sexy is going on.

The pillow is sewn out of red polyester and trimmed with black maribou feathers. It measures 6 inches across and 3.5 inches wide. The trim adds roughly 1 inch to the total size of the pillow. The stitching in this pillow isn't exactly stellar but it is sturdy enough to stand up to gentle use and to hanging on a door knob.
It is stuffed with standard polyfill material and I know this because the stitching has begun to come out on one side of the pillow. It is a seam that ripped and it's super easy to fix with a simple needle and thread. For the price I paid it's still a bargain.
The maribou by contrast is actually fairly good quality and doesn't shed easily. It is sewn together well and looks like it will last for a good long time with proper care. It feels luxurious and sensual when lightly brushed along a lover's skin.
The door hanger is a piece of very soft nylon type rope sewn into the seam of the pillow top. It allows the pillow to sit about 5 inches below the door handle and allows the door hanger to be hung in a closet or on the wall when not in use.

The words "Romance 2nite" are stitched to the top layer of the pillow in black machine stitching. The polyester wasn't blocked and stretched properly before sewing so there are minute puckers in the material and the end knots have popped through the top layer of the pillow on mine. A simple overcast stitch has prevented the stitching from raveling on my pillow. I will be honest and say it wouldn't have been an issue if my son hadn't fallen in love with the soft "pretty" (his name for the pillow) and pulled the knot causing the raveling to start. All in all despite these few flaws it is a cute little door hanger and should mine get ruined I will definitely buy a replacement.

I wouldn't recommend trying to wash the pillow as it is pretty fragile but if you should spill something on it or it just gets a bit dingy you could try washing it in a lingerie bag on the gentle cycle of your washing machine and drying on air in the dryer. You could also spot clean the pillow though in my enperience this usually winds up causing the polyester to spot. The maribou is problematic but can be almost completely returned to it's former softness with a hairdryer set on air only. Shake and lightly comb the feathers while they dry. The best bet is to store the pillow on a hanger in the closet under a shirt or perhaps on a lingerie hanger with your favorite lingerie. That way it will stay relatively dust free.

This has held up better than any marabou feathered, and stitched pillow has a right to. It has been tugged at and drooled on by my toddler who believes anything soft and fuzzy should belong to him. The stitching has held and the feathers look only slightly worse for the wear. I give this pillow two thumbs way up.
