Purpose / Audience

These cards are most likely best used for couples who are looking to break out of a routine in the bedroom. While many have stated that this is aimed at inexperienced couples, I can definitely see couples of any level benefiting from it.

Rules / Content

As this isn't really a traditional game with many rules, it can easily be picked up and played without having to learn anything. Simply take out the cards, choose one at random (or based on the game you'd like to play), and follow the instructions. There are only winners in this game if it's being played correctly!

There are a total of 118 cards, which are divided into 12 different games.

The games that are included are as follows:

Each of the 12 sets of games is accompanied with a separate card that explains how the game is played. We skimmed over these cards for each game momentarily, but decided that we'd rather just play the game our own way. The instructions are minimal, and by no means have to be followed. We found that we enjoyed the games more when we modified things a little.

The purpose of each game varies, from fantasy starters to using household props as sexy teasers, but they all have a common goal: to spice up your foreplay!

Design

This game comes packaged in a small, pink box. On the cover is the title of the game, as well as a picture of a couple in bed. The top cover of the box is held to the rest of the box magnetically, and easily flips open, revealing a sort of "Table of Contents" on the left side and a window to the set of cards on the right. The "Table of Contents," side simply lists each of the 12 games that make up the set of cards.

To access the cards, there is a small tab connected to one end of the box. Pull on this, and a drawer will come out, which contains the set of cards. The cards from each game have different designs/coloring, so it is easy to distinguish which game a specific card is from.

The entire design of the box and the cards is very well done. The box is very sturdy and is perfect for storage. We like the size of the cards, particularly that they're not very small. And while the cards are somewhat flimsy, they still seem to be durable enough and long lasting.

Experience

We received this game from some friends when we got married. We brought it along on our honeymoon, but never even ended up using it at all. Over time, we have used it, but only occasionally. We definitely like the game, and think it's very well designed, but we haven't had the need for it very often, as we always seem to be creative enough most of the time.

However, we both agree that this game is perfect for those moments when we want to try something completely new and out of our regular routine. Our favorite games in the set are "Dirty Truth or Dare" and "Finish the Fantasy."

A common complaint that we have heard about this game is that the name "Steamy Sex Games" is an exaggeration, and that it's really actually tame. While I can understand that some couples may be looking for a game that is perhaps more overtly naughty or "steamy", I believe that much of it is in your approach to each of the games in the set. With a little imagination and creativity, we have definitely had some steamy outcomes in the bedroom as a result of using these cards.

  I love how you can play this game with things you have lying around the hosue like oven mitts and ice cubes! Having to spend additional money on more items to play the game after you had to pay for the game is a major turn off!
