Think, VALENTINES DAY
A fun addition to a party or gathering! I could see these even being fun in the bed room if you like cold play. Though it is worth mentioning that it is slightly more difficult to use than most trays.Published: January 19, 2012
Pros:
Heart shaped Ice
Cons:
Thin tray, slightly flimsy, no outer edge to prevent spilling.
Coming to you from California Exotics is a package with just one tray. I was slightly confused with this. You would think for the price you pay you would get at least two trays. The tray itself is very thin and your ice cubes are rather small. The tray is 7 inches long, 4 inches in width, and almost an inch tall. In this single mold you can make two big hearts, four mid sized hearts, and six teeny, tiny hearts.
The mold itself feels kind of flimsy, which only slightly helps when trying to get the ice cubes out. There are also no real sides to the tray so if water runs over from the hearts; it will end up on the floor. If you don't fill the hearts completely it rids you of this problem, but creates a new one; making it harder to get your cute ice cubes out! It took me three batches before I filled them to the top and very gingerly, tiptoed to the freezer. The first two, I could get the biggest ones to pop out bit the small ones I had to butter knife out!
As for cleaning, it claims to be dishwasher safe, although I hand wash and rinse my ice trays. As for storing, like any other ice tray it can be stored virtually anywhere. With this tray being so thin, you may want to steer clear of storing the tray around places with knives, or heavier objects because I have the impression after playing with it, that it would not be difficult at all to tear it. I continually keep mine making ice in the freezer.
Heart shaped ice cubes are adorable and fun to show off when you have guests, but they are tedious to make. I'm not sure if there are other brands offering this item, but if there is, they are worth looking into.

Follow-up commentary
1 day after original review
I have not quite had this a week, and I have already, on accident, created a tear on the side, while it doesn't affect the ice cubes themselves, it does make it harder to carry it to the freezer.

Thank you for viewing Heart shaped ice cubes tray – gags review page!

Thanks for the review!
thanks for sharing. this sounds slightly overpriced.
Thanks for the review! These sound too picky for me though. I tend to swing the door open and regular trays often spill, but it's a cute product for more graceful and patient people!
thanks for the review!
I actually wanted one of these. Now I'm not thinking that I do anymore. Thanks for the review!

Yikes, I'll pass! Thanks for the review!
Hey thanks for the review on these I didn't really know much about them. Some suggestions for you to make better use of these, use a small hard plastic/metal tray to place the ice cube tray on so it can easily be transported from the sink to the freezer.
Second, to release the cubes easier, allow the tray to sit in the sink filled with less than an inch of lukewarm or hot water. This will allow a thin barrier of liquid to form along the edges of each cube allowing them to be removed easier. Hope this helps. Thanks for the review.
Good review!
