Classic butt plug by Doc Johnson - review by woofcub

A basic plug that is good for a beginner in the range of both price and is not too firm, yet is not too soft that it can’t be easily manipulated. This was one of my first toys that I bought when I first started out and was recently retired for a better plug of a different material so for the price this plug is reasonably durable. For beginners, the best use of this toy is with a lot of lube and a bit of patience. New users will not be able to immediately use the entire plug but because of the nice taper the plug can be used to slowly stretch out until the largest part can be inserted and the plug locked into place.
This plug can be used in solo or couples play and with the large base is easily manipulated; the main downside of this is that there is no suction cup to attach the plug to surfaces. This plug can be used in just about any situation where it is desired for it to stay in place for an extended time without the worry of having it slip out. With the wide base there is little worry about the toy going too far in when used anally.

Although the material does have a slight smell due to the rubber material, this can be removed by washing with a bit of warm soap and water. Because of the nature of the material of this plug it is recommended that a condom be used to help protect the material of the plug. If a condom is not used make sure that a suitable lube is used and the toy is washed immediately afterwards else the material will deteriorate within a short time and smell like whatever it was used near.
One of the good features of this plug is the firmness of the material being soft enough that it’s still comfortable and stays in place but still firm enough that it can easily be manipulated from the base.

One of the main reasons for buying this toy was the basic and simple design behind it. The plug is a standard shape with a thin tip and a nice taper to the largest part, and then a nice amount of room behind the plug to allow it to rest comfortably inside the user. This is a feature that a lot of plugs do not incorporate. The shape of the plug makes this a good toy for beginners and more advanced users alike as beginners can use the taper at the tip to slowly train themselves at a comfortable pace, until they are able to handle the largest part of the plug. Overall, this plug works exactly as its supposed to allowing the user to stretch out before taking in the bulbous part of the plug, and securing it comfortably in place. Personally the only thing that would make this a better plug was if a suction base was incorporated into the design and still kept within the same price range. As far as size goes I would recommend beginners to start at either the small or medium size plugs and using plenty of lube, especially if you start with the medium size. I would recommend this to get the best use especially if you are going to use the toy often and stretching out at a later time will not be an issue, no matter the size that you pick. This is a good toy especially for travel as it is easy to hide and wont set off any metal detectors if you go through one.

Overall, for the price and material range I would say this plug performed quite well. The material is firm yet flexible enough to be comfortable and provides a good length behind the bulbous part to allow it to sit inside you comfortably. Something that would definitely be an improvement would be the addition of a suction base, though for the price you get what you pay for. One of the main issues with the toy was that after a short time, if not taken care of well, the plug will discolor.

Taking care of this plug is pretty simple- if using a condom, you just wash it once done with some warm soapy water and a little disinfectant; if not using a cover, just wipe off and clean the same as above. Cleaning in the dishwasher as some do, I would not recommend as water can get inside the plug through the base. When storing the plug I would recommend using some powder and storing the plug in a smell proof bag as the plug is porous and will attract some smells. As long as this plug is taken care of it will last a decent amount of time, making it well worth the low price.
