A Workout For Sure!
Overall, if you're an experienced player or even a intermediate player looking to move up the ladder, I can recommend this plug. There is, however only one precaution I'd recommend to anyone and that involves the flimsy base.Published: October 4, 2011

I am in the fortunate position of being in a happy and open relationship with my wife. Open in the sense that she not only follows and understands my kinks and fetishes, she also indulges in them with me. One of the things I've enjoyed for as long as I have been sexual active has been anal sex. As a result, I've found myself over the years becoming a bit of a size queen. I just enjoy that stretched feeling you get with large toys. On a constant search for a new, bigger, better toy I landed on the Classic Butt Plug by Doc Johnson.
While I did not order this from Eden Fantasys, it has been on my toy shelf for a long time and I felt that it deserved a review. Like most Doc Johnson products, the butt plug came in an annoying plastic shell with a cardboard insert proclaiming the name of the toy, manufacture information, as well as all the other normal packaging details. The first thing I noticed upon opening the plug was the smell and taste. The Doc Johnson Classic Butt Plug is made from toy grade rubber, and as such will have the normal bad odor and taste associated with rubber products. The plug measured 2.48" diameter at the widest point (measured with a digital caliper) and approx 6" of insertable length. Due to the type of material this toy is made from, clean-up can be a bit more of a hassle than normal. A normal every day anti-bacterial soap can be used, however, if you're concerned about the porous nature of the plug I would recommend a body compatible natural soap. Sorry, I do not have any recommendations for natural soaps.
The toy itself seemed to be of a decent build at first and for the first year or so I owned it, it was. The plug is made from a firm inner core and a soft outer shell. At first I thought the plug was great, but after about a year the core of the plug began to separate from the shell at the underside of the base. While this doesn't really hamper playing with it, it could lead to problems in the future. After mine separated at the base it has not separated any more or had any problems in the last 2 years.

Experience
This plug is for experienced users only! Even having taken 2" toys all the time, I had lots of problems at first getting this plug in. The key is, of course, lots of lube, relaxing, and patience. All in all, it took about two weeks of steady play with the plug to finally accept it and even at that I was pushing it a little bit. Now, having gotten used to it, I can usually fit the plug right in with a little bit of patience and lots of lube. This took a long time to be able to develop the muscle tone to do this. Do not expect to take this plug on the first try if you have never taken anything larger than 2".
A word of caution, be EXTREMELY careful with the base of this plug. When I first got the plug, the only way I could get it to fit in was by placing the plug on a solid surface and using my body weight to get it to eventually slide in. I had done this several times prior and was still not used to the size (although it felt damn good to fit it in). Like other times I used plenty of lube and patience, and eventually I felt the widest point slide past and inside. Lost in the euphoria, I laid back on the floor and savored the full feeling, when all of a sudden the toy slid deeper with a slight unexpected spasm. The base, being very flimsy, slid right in without any resistance. This was easily one the scariest moments in my sexual life. It took about 20 minutes to finally get a decent enough grip on the base and to push it out. It was very painful and not something I would recommend. This happened one other time after I had gotten used to the width, after a vigorous romp in the shower I used this plug to feel a bit of stretch, it slid in easily and took the base right with it.
I still use this toy occasionally but have since replaced the base. I now use a leather butt plug harness connector as a make shift base. Since I started using the leather piece as a base, I've not had any issues. I can even walk around the house with it in.

Only if you are used to using penises/dildos/probes as wide as the largest diameter of the plug. otherwise, look for something smaller.

If you are completely new to the anal thing, I'd try something with a thin shaft, like the Njoy Small Plug.

Does anyone find the length on this an issue? Im not sure if everyone is different or what but when i tried this i found it hard to get past the widest girth. I know that it being wide wasn't the issue because i had used a toy slightly wider.

Also, can someone actually take a tape measure and confirm the circumfrence? At this size even a quarter inch makes a difference. -

The picture you've linked is the old style. It was significantly larger than the new one, and had a very flimsy base that has been known to fold up and follow the rest of the toy in to your bum.
As far as I know, you can't find the old one online. Vendor's simply haven't updated the pictures, but it's identical to the white one (which seems to be updated more frequently).
The current model is somewhere between 2, to 2.25" in diameter. It's no where near 2.5"
I was an original owner of the larger model, but was never able to accommodate it's entire girth (I swear it was well over 2.5"). I ended up tossing it during a move, without realizing that it's impossible to find anymore. The new version just doesn't live up to the original, but the sturdy base is a welcomed improvement. -

Wow...I'm going to steer clear of this toy. I'm definitely not an advanced anal player, but even if I was, I wouldn't want to risk playing with a toy that is so poorly designed. (Plus, I'm a bit of a snob and loathe rubber.)
