Classic butt plug medium - butt plug discontinued by Doc Johnson - review by ShadowKitten

The Classic Butt Plug from Doc Johnson was my very first plug as well as my very first anal toy. It is made of Sila-gel which is a unique kind of rubber designed by Doc Johnson. When it arrived it did have a slight rubbery smell to it, but after a few uses it went away for the most part. This plug, in my opinion, is the perfect introduction to anal play. Although it is 1 1/2" at the widest point, most beginners to anal play would be surprised how much their rectum can instantly accommodate with just a bit of lube and some relaxation. The plug is a decent length, about 5" total, so it may be a bit long for some people right off the bat. It wasn't for me, though.


The Classic Butt Plug has a very wide, flared base which actually can provide some with stimulation. Along with its neck and base, the rectum can and sometimes tends to suck on the plug as if it was a pacifier of sorts; which can feel quite nice. The base does cause the plug to be slightly uncomfortable (especially at the tip inside you) to sit on or wear long term. You should realize this isn't the plug you want if you want to wear a plug long term.


This toy is a plug though. If you wish, you can thrust it in and out of the rectum stopping each time just before the rectum reaches the 'pop point', as I like to call it (the widest point right before the neck of the plug), and then back out.

Because this toy is rubber, the best way to clean it is with some mild soap and water. If you plan to use this toy both anally and vaginally, you must use a condom every time you use it anally. Despite having 'Sila-Gel' material, the name of the material does not mean you can't use silicone lube with this toy as well as water based lubricant. Remember, if you use silicone you need much less for this toy to become very slick and easy to insert. Don't apply any to the base as it will become very slippery if you do.

I mostly use this toy as something for my rectum to clamp down on while masturbating or to help keep me stretched a bit wider than I usually am before using larger toys. The longest I've ever worn this plug was about 5 hours with a reapplication of water-based lube at about the halfway mark. I would advise keeping this toy away from heat as it seems to slowly, over time shrink the Sila-gel material inside the plug.

This is yet another toy that has 'fallen from grace' despite being my first real anal toy. My other plugs and anal toys just distract me from using this again - well, that and the super wide base. I may, however, be going after the silicone version of this made by Doc Johnson although again, due to its wide base and because I have so many better toys, this one just doesn't appeal to me anymore as much as it did before.
