As advertised, they're not kidding; it's small
The shape of this plug made it appealing to us, and in that regard it did not let down. We recommend this product and will be trying the Plug of Lust Large as wellPublished: March 18, 2010
Pros:
Great shape, good for small people and starters.
Cons:
We would of gotten the large had we realized.
We wanted a plug to get our back door activities started, so we ordered this product. We sized it up with the very useful "actual size" feature on Edenfantasys, but we were both still caught off guard as to its size on arrival. It came in a plastic package, and upon arrival, it didn't have a plastic smell to it. It has a frosted appearance to it and easily fits into the palm of the hand. It's made of silicone, as such the proper lubricant should be used (water based). The pure silicone construction means it's not porous, a very important consideration for ass play. We found clean up was a breeze, just soap and water. Do use a percent bleach solution if you want to share.
The shape is very much like a spade (like a card), the point is blunted and about the diameter of a common pinky finger. The Plug of lust is solid and will not bend. It's a good combination of firm enough to penetrate but soft enough for comfort. It's got a great texture to it, very smooth with lube applied. Another reviewer had a seam on theirs, ours did not have any defects. Feel good about the safety of this little guy; its fluted base and skinny neck, ensures it wont slip in or out. The handle makes this toy a working plug, in the event you wanted to pump in and out. The handle also makes removal easier and more direct.
For those anatomically comparable, this would be a great purchase. Its price is very competitive and its big brother (Plug of Lust Large) is similarly priced. The two could also be used as stages, in anticipation of larger plugs, etc. As other reviewers stated, it would be a great introduction to anal, for those new to it.

Experience
This plug inserted easily for us, we did use some water based lube. We didn't use it for play, just warm up. For us it worked well as a starter. We will be buying the large as well.
Follow-up commentary
2 months after original review
This ended up being too small as a primer. It is cute(small), just not suited to our needs. We still like the shape, and we will be purchasing the same model in large.

Mirror, mirror on the wall . . . who is the smallest, least intimidating butt plug of them all?
-
I am completely new to anal play. Well, at least I am almost completely new: I have been attempting to get started for a couple of weeks now since my husband has expressed interest in trying anal sex.
Sadly, however, I have had a difficult time using what many reviewers have deemed as the perfect beginner's butt plug. It seems as though I need something even smaller than the following, all of which I have tried and find either very difficult to insert and/or too uncomfortable to wear for even a short period of time (and, yes, I do use a thick anal lube and try to insert gently and slowly):
Tantus Little Flirt (seems too long for my comfort)
Tantus Ripple (the last bead is too thick in diameter and it also is too long for me to fully insert comfortably)
FunFactory Bootie (the bulged head makes it very painful to insert, even going slowly and gently, and I find it too filling to wear comfortably for long, once it is in)
I am very sad that I am not "progressing" in anal play. Are there any smaller butt plugs out there to help me ease into using -- and hopefully even enjoying -- my *beginner* plugs so that I can eventually work up to trying anal sex?
Ironically, my husband has also just started to experiment with anal play to massage his prostate and he has even been able to use our Nexus G-rider with no problem. I don't understand why I am still stuck at the *pre-beginner* stage!
Thanks for any advice! I appreciate it. -

Any other suggestions would be most appreciated, too.

At that price, the Plug of Lust is tough to beat. If price is not an object, then I might go for the Fun Factory Bootie instead because I think the base is better for long term wear. Another consideration if price were no object would be the Bob pleasure object.
