Classic butt plug by Doc Johnson - review by maskedpuppy

Although this basic, medium sized black plug isn't as flashy as some of the butt-candy that's on the market today, this toy is one of the staples in my collection, and I think everyone else should include it in their own!

I'll begin with my own experience, which started about two years ago. I bought this plug in a small adult toy store near my old house, and loved it immediately. While it's no secret that I'm a sucker for brightly colored, candy-like toys (just look at my other reviews), this simple little plug really can't be compared to much else that I've tried. It's got sort of a dual-core thing going on, with the outside being a sturdy, slick rubber and the inside a softer, squishy sort of gel-like thing. There's a pocket of air between the core and the outer shell. This means there's plenty of room for the plug to squish into all the right places while still maintaining a tough enough exterior to be easy to clean, unlike toys fully made of gel. It's also really good with any type of lube you put on it; I've never had a single issue with it soaking up or repelling lubricants, and it's pretty good at staying in for the most part.

At some point, I lost my plug in the shuffle of moving from apartment to new apartment back to my parents' house. Sadness. But this month I picked up another one, since I moved in with my boyfriend, and it's still just as amazing as I remembered! I also decided to try it out on him, since the only experience he's had with plugs previously is with a smaller glass one, and I wanted to see how he'd feel about this.

We started out with some light pegging using the Cherry Jaguar harness and bright purple G-spot dildo I reviewed previously. I wanted to slide something in him before I started riding him, so that he'd get both sensations at once. His first response to the sight of the plug was "Oh god, that looks like it's gonna go deep." And honestly, it DOES look pretty big; although this is only the medium size of the toy, and it's not really much thicker at the widest point than my pegging dildo, it's got a slightly intimidating taper and the stem is pretty thin and short.

In use, he took it pretty easily; the widening is just gradual enough to be felt but not enough to stretch too far all at once unlike some much shorter plugs that I've seen. However, once in, the base turned out to be too wide and the stem too short to provide a secure anchor. My boyfriend is VERY tight; even with enough lube and lots of stretching, he was too tight to keep it in.

I would recommend this if you need something with a wider base or shorter stem, especially, but honestly, it's pretty damn great for anybody who needs a beginner plug or is looking for a trustworthy addition to their collection.
