I'd absolutely recommend this toy. It was slightly disappointing, but that may have been because I built it up so much in my head. Part of me expected to be capable of an anal orgasm the very first time, which was unrealistic. Although I wouldn't rate this toy as the best of the best, it remains very high on my list of required male toys. I just wish it didn't have those damn nubs.
Published:

The toy feels great going in and is capable of delivering powerful anal orgasms.

The nubs on the toy are very distracting. It's nearly impossible to sit down with this toy inserted.

Use

The Progasm could easily be considered to be the "reference" model in the world of prostate massagers. The toy puts pressure at just the right place, but it may not be for everybody; this toy is definitely one of the wider massagers. For those that prefer the feeling of fullness, the experienced is heightened. Beginners to prostate massagers may need to ease into this toy by first playing with smaller toys. Individuals that have little experience with this type of toy should probably choose something with a little less girth.

Like most prostate massagers, the toy works best when the person is already aroused and the prostate is inherently already enlarged. Even without prior play, this toy feels amazing. For some people, this toy may be too much to have inserted while having a normal orgasm; it certainly multiplies the experience.

I'm not sure that this toy would be appropriate to be used for thrusting. The toy is tapered in such a way that your body naturally wants to pull it in and keep it there. That being said, it certainly does feel nice to have it put back into place after coming out. Don't be concerned about the toy getting lost inside of you; there are two extensions with nubs that protrude from the end of the toy that prevent it from being pulled in entirely.

Sitting down with this toy inserted is less than comfortable. The nubs at the base of the toy tend to make for localized pressure points. Other positions, such as standing up or laying down, make for a much better experience. In these postures, the buds rest up against areas instead of being pressed hard into them.

Material / Texture

This toy is made of hard plastic with no seams and a matte surface. There's a slight amount of drag to the toy, but this tends to disappear completely with a liberal amount of lube. The toy has absolutely no smell. Being hard plastic, the Progasm has no "give" at all; it is neither flexible nor squishy. Beginners may find the rigidity of the toy less appealing and opt for a more flexible prostate massager.

Design / Shape / Size

This toy has an insertable length of 4 1/2 inches and a diameter of up to 1 1/2 inches. The toy starts wide and tapers to a narrow neck, which tends to keep the toy in place. At the base, two poles extend away from the toy, then upwards, with a small spherical nub at the end of each. The intent of these is to provide perineal stimulation as the toy is pulled inward. In practice, these tend to be distracting, especially when sitting down.

The toy's width may preclude beginners from using the toy, but those moderately experienced with anal toys should find this toy fits nicely.

I don't personally find this toy to be very discreet; it seems pretty obvious to me that it is intended for penetration. If someone else were to come across it, they would be able to figure out what the toy is for.

Performance

The Progasm delivered what it promised. The toy felt great going in, and felt even better during orgasm. The nubs are definitely something that I would eliminate from this toy; they just get in the way. I didn't need a lot of lube to slip this toy in. The surface becomes slick very easily, although the lube won't "stick" to the toy very well. I'm not sure how well the toy would lend itself to being worn underneath clothing. The nubs cause the toy to protrude out a bit, so it isn't as if the toy sits closely. The visibility of the toy under clothing will probably vary from person to person, and may become more visible when walking or bending over.

Care and Maintenance

Being that this toy is made of hard plastic, it is non-porous and very easy to clean. With just some hot water and soap, you can have your toy cleaned up in no time. It can be stored anywhere, but I tend to keep it in the form-fitting box that it came in.

All lubes are compatible with this toy. When I first started playing with it, I tended to prefer silicone. I've since switched to using water-based lubes most of the time, since they're so much easier to clean up than their silicone counterparts.

Packaging

The packaging for this toy has a modern look to it. It's classy, and definitely not cheaply made. It is excellent for storage, providing a clean and discreet place to store the toy. The red box is sturdy and stiff, and easily stands upright. Since the box is not clear, you could even sit it on a bookshelf or nightstand. It is larger than the toy itself, but not too much larger.

After opening each of the two magnetically closed flaps, the toy is visible, held snuggly in place within a removable plastic tray.

Experience

From the moment I first saw the Progasm, I knew I wanted one. After reading many reviews giving the toy high marks, the decision of which Aneros toy to select came down to girth. As I kept reading, so many people noted the fullness that the toy provided (compared to other Aneros models) that I found my choice to be remarkably easy.

It was a bit like Christmas when the toy arrived, and I found myself giddy to try it. I used a thin coat of silicone lube to cover the toy, and slid it inside. Some people had noted that it took them a couple of minutes to fully insert the toy, but I had it inside me in less then 30 seconds. The toy felt simply amazing. Then, I tried to sit down. Ouch. Due to the telescoping nubs on the base of the toy, sitting down on any type of flat surface is not a good idea. I found that the most forgiving seated position was on a very cushioned sofa. I discovered a much more comfortable position was to be lying on the bed.

I really wanted my first time with the toy to yield the elusive anal orgasm that I had read so much about. Instead, I just had a really nice ordinary orgasm; it lasted much longer than usual. I tried many more times after that with the Progasm, but in the end, it was a different toy that showed me how to have one. On the positive side, now that I'm familiar with them, the toy produces the results that I expected from the beginning. My usual orgasms are accompanied with a full body orgasm that completely overtakes me.

Thanks for the review, My husband wasn't too impressed with the ball on one of his toys either.

@Rossie: Thanks for taking the time to read it!

@travelnurse: I'll be doing a review on the Nexus Excel soon, which also has a ball. That one doesn't really do anything for me either, but it certainly doesn't distract me the way that these did.

Really nice review! Thanks for sharing photos too. I'm sorry to hear it was uncomfortable to sit while inside sometimes. I've considered this toy for vaginal use! Mostly for g-spot stim, but it does seem it may work well for that. I suppose I should just stick with my Pure Wand for that purpose for the time being and then decide on this at a later date. Thanks for sharing though. I can see those nubs being a bit**.
