X-10 extreme - beads by Cal Exotics - review by Sassybunny85

The X-10 Extreme is the revamped version of the X-10 anal beads and features a small plug on the top. Instead of going from small to large, this is the opposite. I prefer to think of it as plain Jane's fun loving cousin who comes for a visit and changes everything. Definitely not a toy for the faint of heart. The key to using this successfully is patience, and lots of lube. If you think you have enough lube, add more because the lube is what makes this a pleasurable experience.

This toy is made from TPR which is soft with a bit of flexibility. One the plus side, it's not as porous as cyberskin. There's a but though! Silicone is still less porous. That means you should use condoms if you plan on sharing these beads. It does have a bit of an odor out of the package. I'm not sure if it was just me or not, but I could smell it from a few feet away. I'm not sure how to define the odor, other than it being just a chemical-like smell. After washing it several times before use, and several times after, the smell isn't noticeable unless you stick your nose right up to it. It's a bit tackier than most of my other TPR toys, so when the lube dries out, or if there's not enough, it can drag.

These start you off with an almost 3 inch bowling pin shaped probe. From there, the beads gradually taper down, but not nearly as much as the original X-10. To keep the strand from getting lost in your ass, there's a nice retrieval loop on the end. It's more substantial than the regular X-10's loop. I didn't have any issues with it, but another reviewer did so I suppose it all depends on your comfort level, and how far you insert them. I think the flare shape at the top really added a lot of sensation compared to normal round beads. It was different for me since it's a new shape, and gives new sensations. As far as the fit goes, I think it's a bit long. I didn't get it all the way in because of this fact. If you can handle between ten and eleven and a half inches in your ass, then you could just be in luck. Not including the tip, there are eight beads, with about a half inch in between each bead.

The best part about this toy is the unique shape at the top. It's like having a butt plug and beads in one toy. It gives the best of both worlds with a twist. Penetration with a toy/penis feels best if only the plug is inside, and it's definitely a pleasure. The one complaint I personally have with this toy is the length. It's just pretty long, and the handle is just as flexible as the strand itself. It's better to push the beads in one by one with your hand instead of trying to push them in with the handle.

Since this is made from TPR, you cannot boil it to sanitize it. If you are sharing, make sure you are using a condom/toy cover over them. As far as lubes go, you can use a silicone or water based one. Cleaning it was really simple. I ran very warm water over them, filled my hand with a few squirts of my foaming hand soap, and went to town rubbing the beads, making sure I soaped up all of them. I read the previous reviewer's experience, and I didn't have an issue with getting the ridges/grooves clean. I also gave it a wash with my Before and After cleaner, to see which method of cleaning was easier, and I like the running water/soap method a bit better for this item. Storing it is simple. I put it in a black gift bag from a certain beauty chain which is pretty close to this bag, only a bit larger.

The X-10 Extreme arrived in a regular molded clamshell package with a guy's picture on the paper inside. Very simple, no frills. There were no user instructions included, and I'm guessing because it's pretty straightforward what you're supposed to do with these beads. I personally wouldn't use it for storage or a gift box.

I think this is a great way to experiment with butt plugs and probes if you're wondering about graduating from just beads. It's not too wide, and it still has enough heft to it that it gives the anus a wonderful full feeling.

I tried using this alone, and with a partner. When I went to use it alone, I had waited until I was pretty relaxed, and put lube on the beads, and a bit around my anus. However, I used the Wet 4 in 1 warming lube, and it dried out too quickly. This led to a bit of an issue with getting the beads out when I was done. I had to give a few good tugs while bearing down a bit. It didn't cause me to bleed or anything, but my anus was a bit itchy after doing this. Like it's previously been said by myself and the first reviewer, too much lube is not an option with these beads. The second time around when I used them solo, I made sure to use lots and lots of a basic water based lube that was just a bit more slippery than the Wet stuff. I gently pulled on them as I was using a vibe on my clit, and it led to a pretty satisfying experience. However, my favorite is keeping the tip inside my ass while being penetrated. It is an experience like no other in my book.
