The Hot Pinks vibrating butt plug is designed for anal stimulation, although it can also be inserted vaginally, of course. It can also be used for clitoral stimulation, because the vibrations carry into the tip of the plug very well. I would recommend this toy to men or women experienced with anal stimulation, as this is a large plug. Not exactly the ideal first toy to stick in your butt. It is five and a half inches long, and about an inch in diameter at its smallest point. However, it feels just as wonderful inserted vaginally, so if it ends up being a little large for you, it can still be of use.

I have found it is a little too big to stay in comfortably during PIV sex. For me, it is better used solo or during foreplay. It isn't very well suited for lengthy insertion. The base is large as is the dial for the vibrations, so it wouldn't be comfortable standing or sitting. The neck of the plug itself is rather wide and the diameter of the plug is rather consistent so it doesn't keep itself in very well. However, the shape does make thrusting with the toy comfortable and easy.

Also, being as it is large, pink, and glittery, it would make a wonderful gag gift for a bachelorette party or similar occasion. And hey, it works well so the bride can actually use it!

This plug is made of jelly, which is not the safest of toy materials. It is porous and cannot be sterilized, so it really shouldn't be shared between partners. Being that it is an anal toy, extra care should be taken to make sure it is cleaned thoroughly after use. I'll go into more detail on that later.

When I opened the package, I noticed the distinct smell of jelly toys. If you haven't smelled it before, it is a plasticy sweet smell. A quick wash in warm water and soap got rid of it, though. After a good wash it is practically scentless. And of course, in the name of science, I just had to taste it. I wouldn't recommend you do the same, as it does not taste very good.

The whole toy is very soft and smooth. There are no seams and the whole toy has a soft feel, similar to a hard boiled egg. There is no texture or ribbing on it, and thankfully none of the glitter is in the outer layer of jelly.

Any type of lubricant can be used with this toy, as it is not made of silicone.

Apart from the size, this is designed as a very simple plug. The tip is nicely rounded and is around an inch in diameter. It gradually flares out to a diameter of nearly two inches, then narrows slightly to give the toy a neck. The flare at the bottom which keeps it from slipping inside of you is around three inches long and around an inch and a half wide. It makes the plug a little uncomfortable to keep in in some positions, but the edges are smooth so it won't dig into skin. The dial for the vibrations sticks out from the flare, which is also where the batteries are inserted.

As I said before, this is a big butt plug. I think my eyes tried to pop out of my head when I took this thing out of the box. I let it sit by my bed forever before I worked myself up to actually trying to use it, and I've been very experienced with anal play for years. Not a good beginner toy.

As for discretion, this toy has none. It is big, it is hot pink, and it is very obviously a butt plug. I would not recommend leaving it lying around if you don't want it to be seen.

As it says on the package, this plug has "vibrating action". Vibrations are controlled by a simple twist dial for various speeds. It is easy to turn the dial and change the speed, but the downside to this is that it is easy to accidentally change the speed or turn the toy off during use. Vibrations carry very well through the entire toy at all speeds. The low setting is a bit buzzy, but at the highest speed the vibrations are very strong. It takes two AA batteries, and so far it is still running strong after probabaly a total of an hour and a half of use.

One of my favorite things about this plug is that it is very very quiet. At the highest setting, you can't even hear it if you are more than maybe a yard away. The sound doesn't carry through walls or doors, or even across a room. When it is inserted it is essentially silent!

This is not a waterproof toy, so care should be taken to keep water out of the battery compartment area during cleaning, and it shouldn't be used in the shower or bath.

As I mentioned earlier, it is made of jelly and can't be sterilized. It is porous and bacteria can settle on the material. So, it is essential that you take care to make sure you get it clean after use. I usually use some gentle antibiotic soap (a good toy cleaner would work as well) and warm water to lather it up with a washcloth, then I carefully rinse it off in the sink, making sure that water doesn't get near the battery compartment. I usually wipe it down with a toy wipe after I dry it off just to be extra safe. I've found it sometimes takes more than one washing to get it really clean, as it seems to hold smells fairly well. And seeing as where it goes, that's not a smell you want hanging around your toy box.

I store it on a shelf in my nightstand, away from other toys. A cloth bag would be a good idea to keep it from gathering dust or touching other toys. Remember, sometimes toy materials can interact with each other and cause some melting.

The packaging for the Hot Pinks Butt Plug is not very discrete. It comes in a basic plastic clamshell with a paper insert describing the toy as a "5 1/2 inch soft pliable hot pink jelly dong with glitter" and shows a scantily clad blonde lounging on a large pink cushion resembling the toy. The back of the insert calls it "The 5 1/2 inch butt plug for arousing anal excitement!!". So in other words, it's not exactly a package worthy of a gift and not something you probably want your neighbors to see in your trash can. Not great for storage either.

I was impressed to find it actually comes with an instruction manual. The instructions detail how to put batteries in, some minor troubleshooting information in case the toy isn't working, instructions for use and some general warnings. The instructions are not geared for the specific butt plug, but are just general vibrator instructions written to cover a range of products. Instructions are listed in English, German, Dutch, French, Italian, and Spanish.

When I got this toy, I was a little unsure about being willing to use it. It became a bit of a joke with a friend of mine, who suggested a hilarious alternate use that I just have to share. He thought that removing the vibrating part and inserting the plug onto a large spear or walking stick would be hilarious and make for a good implement for threatening friends or as part of a dominatrix Halloween costume. Now that I've worked up the nerve to use it, I really like it, but if the motor dies on me I may just think about doing it. It would make for a memorable Halloween for sure!

As I mentioned, I do really like this toy even though it intimidated me so much it took a couple months for me to get enough of a feel for it to do a review. It can be a bit difficult to get in, but it vibrates strongly and really fills you up. I found that the best way to get it in was to use lots and lots of lube and to warm up with smaller toys first. Once you can get it in, it is very, very enjoyable. I would give it five stars, but I took one off because of the intimidating size and the somewhat unsafe material. In general, I greatly prefer sterilizable toys for anal use.
