The prosty - sex toy by Evolved Novelties - review by Tessa Taboo

The Prosty is meant to be a prostate massager for men, but it could also be used as a vibrator for women as well. The prostate is reached through the rectal wall, as shown in this diagram:


Prostate massagers are generally specially designed to put pressure on, and stimulate the area inside the rectum that is right against the prostate. A lot of men can orgasm simply from this type of stimulation alone, but even more, including my husband, say that it really just adds something incredible to other stimulation that is already going on.

The Prosty is made out of plastic which is a non-porous and phthalate-free material with firm, smooth texture. On a safety scale of 1 to 10, it ranks as an 8. The Prosty is about as hard and smooth as it gets. There is no give to it, or any special textural details to speak of. Based on the texture alone, I'd say this toy is fine for beginning or advanced users, but the size might be a challenge for beginners.

One thing that sets The Prosty apart from other anal toys, is that the tip is not hardly tapered at all. You are basically sticking the part with the widest girth into you first. When I noticed that in the pictures, I figured that it wouldn't probably be that large. As you can see, my judgement was a little off:

The only other prostate toy we own is the Aneros Progasm. I would say that the tip of The Prosty is about as think as the thickest part of the Progasm. But the difference is, there is no easing into it. I wouldn't say that my husband is advanced when it comes to using anal toys, but he isn't really a beginner, and this took him a minute to get comfortable with. But once he had it in, he loved it. He said it felt a little too long, but it wasn't uncomfortable, and it didn't try to slip out at all, even when we were having sex. He said it even felt better than the Progasm, and did more for stimulating that area, even when it wasn't vibrating.

The style doesn't scream sex toy, but I wouldn't really call it discreet either.

The vibrations are clearly located at the tip of The Prosty. You can tell because it has a very top heavy feeling. This toy was much heavier than I expected. I assumed it would be pretty lightweight, kind of like a bullet or something, but it really isn't. It seems to be much more solid than that.

On the packaging, it says:



We did not test the waterproof part, so I can't vouch for that. However, I'm a little baffled by the 5 function part. At the end of the toy, there is a single button and you unscrew that part to put the batteries in:





It says that you push the button for the functions. After we put in 2AAA batteries (which we really had to fight to make fit in there, and then when we realized they were dead batteries, we went and got new ones, and struggled to get the other ones out), we screwed the cap back on. We pushed the button once and it started vibrating. We pushed it again, and it shut off. I figured maybe there was a connection off in it somewhere, so I took the cap off again, made sure the batteries were in right, and but the cap back on again. I pushed the button, it vibrated, pushed it again, the vibrations got stronger, pushed it again, and it shut off. I tried adjusting the batteries again, and I never got more than two functions, neither of which was a pulsating vibration as mentioned on the product page.

That being said, my husband didn't seem to care. He liked it as it was, and the vibrations were plenty strong. To me, in a toy, I like REALLY strong vibrations. I'm not usually satisfied with anything that has a Vroom rating of less than 4. I would give this one a 2-3, which wouldn't work for me personally, but he loved it. It was a little noisy, but once it was inside him you couldn't hear it at all. The one problem with the design of the toy is that if he was wearing it laying flat on his back, and I was on top of him, the button would keep getting pushed. It's very sensitive, and even when I was playing with it while it was in him, I accidentally pushed it a few times.

Plastic is probably the easiest thing to take care of. You can wash it with anti-bacterial soap or wipes, or rubbing alcohol. You don't have to worry about putting it next to other toys or anything like that. We just threw this one in the drawer with the rest of the toys. It doesn't pick up lint or dust or anything like that. And you can use any type of lube with plastic toys.
