Blue thunder smooth plug review

For what might be less-than-poetically-described as a hunk of plastic, this plug is a beautiful colour and texture. The cobalt colour goes all the way through, and the outside is smooth and unmarred by irregularities from its making. I found this to be an extremely aesthetically pleasing toy -- ten points for that!

The outer package is clearly geared towards men, between the name (Blue Thunder) and the geometrically depicted cock and balls on the front. The colour scheme only compliments the plug; however, between the toy itself and the packaging, Doc Johnson is clearly geared towards presentation.

The only immediate turn-off I discovered was the jelly odor when I opened that package. Although not as bad as some jelly products I have used, it was still off-putting, and I had to let it sit out for a few days until the stink went mostly away.

I do like that while there is no traditional suction cup at the base, the jelly is formed at the bottom with a natural, concave suctioning surface. Whether intentional or not (the package doesn't say), this is great if you'd like to ride the toy and have a smooth surface to which you can adhere it.

As I indicated before, I LOVE the smoothness of this toy; that alone is a quite sensual pleasure. It is not sticky or tacky at all, just silky, even for a jelly butt plug. I really looked forward to using this. In use, however, I encountered one flaw; the shape of the butt plug is not one that's predisposed to staying where it's put. At first, I thought my inclination to hold onto it while in use was unwarranted, but (perhaps partially due to the smoothness I so love) it insisted on slipping out. I really wish that it didn't though! In all other ways, it's such a beautiful plug and a pleasure to use.

I would recommend this plug if you'd like to ride it or are using it in active partner play, but not if you'd like it to go in and stay in, especially during active sessions. It's also a little big for beginners, while not terrifyingly huge.
