The groove - anal probe by Doc Johnson - review by Master Crimson

This toy sees but one use with me and my partner, and that is an anal one. Note that this toy is a tad too heavy and bulky to wear underneath one's clothing, and may not stay in easily for intermediates or those who are used to taking in larger sizes - but that doesn't take away the pleasure of its true purpose.

With but a little bit of lube, this toy's continued entry of thickening bulbs and a gain in firmness slides fairly easily into the anus, where it belongs. It gives both the feeling of filling you up, as well as an increasing stimulation as you go further down on it - and is great to both use of your own, or have your partner help you.

Ahh, silicone, how we love you - and especially when you are of the Platinum Premium Silicone kind - it tends to make anal penetration that much more comfortable - and The Groove is made 100% out of this lovely material, giving it a medium firmness.

Straight out of the package, it doesn't feel weird, nor does it smell. It is a delightful toy in its /simplicity/. There's no noticeable texture on this Groovy toy beyond the rather obvious bulbous flares of the toy as a whole, and is quite bendable due to the previously mentioned material.

Normally, you would think that being bendable is not much of a problem. But as much as this toy is great for beginners, it requires a little bit of patience; Its material makes the fairly small tip a bit difficult to push in, because of how soft and bendable it is. Even my partner, who's quite used to having toys penetrating her in that region, needs a moment to get it in. Especially since, when it is lubed up (you are lubing up, right?), it'll love to just wiggle /away/ from your pucker.

However, fear not! The groove gets firmer towards the end - each bulb getting that bit stronger and thicker! Truly, if you get the tip in, all your troubles are gone!

When we first saw this one on EdenFantasys, me and my partner were a tad intrigued. Ever since buying the Plug of Lust, we were looking for another anal toy that - at the time - that would make entry a bit... more comfortable. After all, that little white devil was her first proper anal toy, and on some rare occasions, even the 1.5 inches diameter was a bit of a hard sell. However, this toy is just the exact same width at the last bulb. But there is an important difference... the ripple of graduated bead-like sequence, growing bigger as you go down on the shaft.

The Groove lets the first four and a half inches of length sink in more casually, slowly leading up to that one and a half inch final plunge of the thickest bulb - and has always made things easier for my partner... and makes for some addition gasps and squeals of delight on the way there. Now, this 'ease' of taking it the full way might just be because the material gives a bit more 'give', making it that much more comfortable - especially for beginners. But my partner and are are both of the opinion that shes's shown a liking for this toy simply because of its more gentle path to those final one and a half inches of diameter.

The shape is a bit like getting a set of anal beads - and it can be quite delightful to pull out of yourself or your partner after they've reached that last bulb - but because there is no rope involved, and the casually growing flare that hides among the bulbs doesn't detach from them, there is no giant gain in size to overcome in a small distance. And that simply makes things easier.

Don't be fooled! Though its bottom may feel like it gets a little bit of suction, you really should not rely on this slightest of hold on a solid surface. No, this toy is made for its comfort, its ease of use, and its simplicity. If you are new, or even intermediate to anal play, this is a great toy, as it makes things easy, and you can take your time to get this groovy and wiggly toy all the way.

Now, me and my partner do not actually own a harness, to test if this thing would work with such a thing. But I must note that the bottom itself is rather thick. Close to a good inch or so - so in my entirely uneducated guess of how harnesses work, it might be a tad uncomfortable. However, I do not see it as undo-able. It would certainly give someone a unique experience, I would guess.

The first thing I have to say about this toy is its potential for Eau De Ass. You /must/ clean this sucker really well, if you don't wish to have this toy end up smelling. It goes rather far in after all, and even the 'Platinum Premium Silicone' isn't going to magically stop it from taking on some of the bacteria. Now do note, that this Silicone is a prime material - it's easily the safest one you can use. And normally, for most Silicone toys, me and my partner would stick with the warm water and antibacterial soap.

However, for this one, I definitely must recommend that you put it in a 10% bleach solution or boiling it! This may be just our experience, but we do not believe that just sticking it in the top rack of the dish washer (or the soap treatment) is quite enough - as opposed to some other Silicone anal toys we own. This may be due to the bulbs, making it so that it can be a bit (unexpectedly) tricky to get the antibacterial soap to properly reach all of its body.

An important thing to keep in mind, if you or your partner is female, and into double penetration, that the base of this toy is rather wide. So if you want to plunge The Groove into her rear, and still have room for vaginal penetration - either by toy or otherwise - know that this has a chance of being either uncomfortable for the man, or tricky with the toy.

The Groove, or as I personally like to call it, Mister Wiggles - not just because it shies away from my partner's pucker, but also because it makes her squirm!

When it first arrived at the house, it came with a few other toys we'd ordered, and ended up not being the first thing we used. After our slight disappointment with a certain strap-on butterfly vibrator, we decided that we were both rather horny, and my partner was feeling unsatisfied. That's when I took out this lovely thing.

Things were rather simple. We were already undressed, and she was already presenting herself to me like a good pet. She enjoys the anal play after all. And after teasing her with a little lubing and rubbing, and hearing her meowing - begging for the toy - came a few moments of the slightest frustration with getting 'mister wiggles' in. However, just grabbing onto the end of the toy let me stick the toy in.

And so it went first, a tiny mew - glad it was in apparently. Slowly, I let the first bulb go in. This is easy. The toy was still being a bit floppy at that point, so it needed a bit of hand guidance. Still, she rewarded me with another tiny mew. From that point on, I could simply hold onto the base to push it in further.

The second proper bulb is the same size as the first, but still it drew the cutest little shiver from her. Unlike the more standard plug we own, this one makes my partner certainly shiver. Then came the third, slightly bigger, slightly more rigid. She pushed her butt back against the toy, and let out a little surprised mew as she realized that this step was, in fact, a bit bigger. However, that didn't stop her from pushing. And when it was time for the fourth, she was begging for that last step. To get that feeling of being filled up with something.

I remember her saying she was surprised how much easier it was to get it in all the way, as opposed to the much shorter Plug of Lust. Ahh, but that delightful final sound she made when that last bulb went in... - and a whimper when I'd pull it out. She didn't want to be 'released' from this delightful toy.

Much like any time we try a new toy that works for us... that little adventure was quite unforgettable.
