Icicles No. 2 - double ended dildo discontinued by Pipedream - review by kitty1949

Pipedream's Icicles No. 2 dildo is a hand blown glass massager intended for vaginal or anal (I suppose?) use. If you do use this toy anally, do so with caution, as it has no flared base for safety.

It is bulbous/bulged and graduated in size. This toy would be perfect for beginners or those new to the world of glass toys. It's rather long, but not intimidating. Great for temperature play and waterproof, this would be a fantastic addition to anyone's collection.

Glass toys are sturdy and unforgiving, so take care while thrusting, as you could potentially hurt your cervix if you get too wild with this one.

Icicles No. 2 is made of borosilicate glass, more widely known as Pyrex. The way this glass is manufactured makes it very resistant to cracks and damage during temperature play such as heating it up or cooling it down. It will not shatter if it does break.

With that said, if you're into more forgiving, squishy toys... this isn't the one for you. It is hard and has 9 bulbs graduated in size. I'd recommend only inserting 7 or 8 of the bulbs, 'cause you'll want something to hang on to and manipulate it with.





NOTE: Never, never ever put a glass product in boiling water or the microwave! You will surely set your hoohoo on fire. Save yourself the embarrassing situation and third degree burns, and just stick this bad boy in a glass of warm/almost hot water and let the heating magic happen.

The Icicles No. 2 dildo is 8 3/4 in. long. Since there is no handle, I suggest gripping onto the last bulb or two at the base of the toy to effectively control it. At it's tip, the dildo measures in at a very unintimidating 3/4 in. diameter. The bulbs graduate in size and become larger as you go down the shaft to the base. The final bulb at the end has a diameter of 1 1/2 in.

The design and shape are beautiful. I spent a good while just staring in awe at the Icicles No. 2 and playing with it in my hands. I almost wish the base was flat so I could sit it out as a decoration! It's gorgeous and well-crafted. If it were to be left out, I don't think someone's initial reaction would be "holy shit it's a dildo!", but I can't think of anything you could pass it off as.

Alright... I'm assuming this toy can be used for both vaginal and anal use. There is no implication of either on the product packaging, so I'm just going by my personal assumptions.

If you choose to use the product anally, please do so safely. Don't insert all the bulbs, and make sure there isn't any excess lube at the base of the toy or on your hands. You definitely don't want it to accidentally slip! I don't foresee any accidents happening, but it's always best to play it safe. Ideally, have a partner use it on you. It could create a nice popping sensation due to the bulbs, and you can add to that experience by making the toy warm or cold.

Icicles No. 2 may also be used vaginally. It could also be used by inserting it by either end, but I've only done so with the small end first. There is no G-spot curve on it, but the bulbs and ability of temperature play make this a delight to have fun with. I do wish the toy was a bit thicker, but that's just my personal preference.

This toy has no suction cup and is not harness compatible.

Glass is such an easy material to care for! This particular toy is dishwasher safe, or can be cleaned with a toy cleaning spray/wipes, or plain ol' antibacterial soap and water. I tend to go the soap and water or toy wipe route since it's the easiest. If you want to completely sterilize this toy, it can be done so using a 10% bleach and water solution.

Since it's a nice, sleek glass, minimal lube is needed. Borosilicate glass is compatible with silicone, water and oil based lubricants. As a general rule of thumb, I prefer to use water based lube with all of my toys since it's universally safe. However, this toy is very smooth, and tiny at its insertion point, so lube may not even be needed.

As for storage... I prefer to keep this toy in its original packaging. It's safe, and kept away from other toys. Glass toys are sturdy, but I always worry since I'm clumsy and pretty good about destroying delicate things.

The Icicles No. 2 dildo comes in a beautiful package like other products in the Icicles line. It comes packaged in a box with product photos on the front and sides, so it's definitely not discreet. There is a ribbon tab you can flip open on the front to reveal the hidden treasure. The toy lies within sitting snugly in a styrofoam cutout. This would be ideal for storage since the toy doesn't come with a pouch. If it stays in the box, there's a minimal chance your toy will be chipped or broken by sitting around with other glass toys.





In addition, the packaging is very informative. It tells you about the properties of the toy, tips on how to use it and cleanup suggestions.

This toy is great! Though it wasn't enough on its own to get me off, it was excellent for warming up... literally.

I always use my glass toys warm. I do so by letting it sit in cup of warm water for a few minutes. Glass is really good at retaining heat, but you can dip it back in the water as needed. (Just make sure you throw said water away... I used my Pure Wand one night with the cup of hot water trick, and left it on my nightstand... I woke up to my cat drinking the water the next morning! Yikes!)

Anyhow, I find using glass toys cold to be very unpleasant; I don't know why. I know a lot of people enjoy that sensation, but I'm not one of them.

Dipping this toy in warm water was delightful. Since it's so sleek and smooth, I didn't need any lube to use it. The smallest bulb on the end was the perfect size to rub on my clit. The warmth felt great! Eventually, after a bit of clitoral stimulation, I inserted it and the bulbs felt wonderful. It's one of my favorite textures on toys, and the fact that I could combine temperature play with it made it even better.
