Classic butt plug royal by Doc Johnson - review by Piskindipity

I originally bought this toy with the thought of using the taper on it for a little bit of stretching. I had not been into anal toys in a while, and so I wanted something that would help slowly get me up to taking bigger toys. This toy definitely helped me achieve that goal! Used as a tapering toy, it's overall pretty friendly.

I found the best way to insert the toy was to squat over it. It gives you full control as you press your hips down, and riding it feels really nice. When fully inserted, it gives a very nice full feeling, but not painful. It presses nicely against your prostate, and when pressing in and out it strokes it greatly. In fact, it's harder to pull out than to get in. Overall, it's excellent as a plug.

I also like the versatility of the plug. I got to use it on my wife, vaginally, (With a condom on, of course! It's always a good idea to use a condom when changing from orifices) and she enjoyed it. Though it was just a tiny bit too big, so, we were not able to fully insert it in her, yet.

I had heard a lot of flack about the smell of the toy, but it honestly just smelled like your typical rubber toy to me. I've had toys that smelled awful, and this wasn't one of them. It wasn't exactly a great smell, but nothing that would put me off. I haven't tasted it!

It seems to be a soft rubber. The toy's description states the same, just "rubber". Upon further examination though, it's more like a rubber sheath around a much softer, gel like rubber. When you squeeze down, there's a fair amount of give. I'd say about the amount of give of a tennis ball, if it were filled with a nice soft medical grade rubber/silicone.

The texture is definitely user friendly and good for beginners. It cleans very well, needing only soap and water. The toy is moderately flexible, but the toy also has enough rigidity to make it easy for anal use. The toy seems waterproof and is porous.

The only thing about the texture that threw me off was that the outside wasn't as smooth as it could have been. It might have been a machine flaw, but there are small series of sand like bumps on the outside of the rubber in certain places. I can feel them, even when I insert it in myself (at least when it gets to the larger part of the toy). While not exactly pleasant, it doesn't take away from the overall purpose or pleasure that the toy provides.

I really enjoyed the overall design of the toy. It's tapered nicely, and does not get too wide too fast. The shape matches perfectly with what you would need for anal insertion. It starts out very small, so even a beginner could use it up to a point. The overall size of the toy is moderate, not too large. Now, let me step back a minute and say that differently. It's not too big for 'me', and probably not for people with at least some experience. However, this is definitely not a beginner's toy! This toy is bigger than my wrist, easily at the widest point.

The tip slowly tapers up to 3 and 1/2 inches halfway down the bulb. That's about 2 inches down the toy, from there, it widens out until it reaches the widest point of the toy, a thick 7 and 1/2 inches. This is about 4 inches down on the toy. The last inch or so of the toy is considerably smaller, only about 3 inches around or so. So after your ass takes in that large bulb, it has a nice base to grip and thrust if you want to manipulate it. It is also tapered on the bottom, so that you can pull it out. However, it is less tapered on the bottom, so it's typically harder to pull out than press in.

I recommend lots of time and patience with taking this toy. Even if you can take it easily, don't go too fast unless you have lots of experience. If you give it time, you'll enjoy every second of it.

When using it on my wife, the only problem is that it widens to the point where it hurts her bone as it presses it. I'm sure this is a fairly normal issue with smaller women, but if you could overcome that it would make a nice toy for a lady as well.

The best part of the toy is definitely the easy to use tapered design. It slides in easily, with a slow build-up to the thickest point. The bottom has a base that's good for a flat surface, which is also really nice for riding.

I had no issues with the design of the toy personally, except for the flaws in the outside texture of the toy. It had those little sandy nubs from time to time, which I'm sure were just a defect.

The toy is also a little large, so this isn't a toy for someone who has no experience at all. However, even a little bit of experience would allow you to at least use the toy for a nice stretching experience!

This toy is extremely easy to clean. Soap and water are all you need to leave it squeaky clean! Well, and a towel to dry it, of course. I would recommend water and silicone based lubes, though I would avoid oil based. I've seen no warnings against using oil based with it; however, I know that they aren't compatible.

Even though the cleaning is easy, rubber is somewhat porous. This being said, clean it thoroughly.

I've personally found the original case is excellent for storing the toy. It's one of the plastic cases that is easy to open and close, and is a nice place to keep the toy separate from other toys, and prevent it from rolling out into the living room when guests are around.

The toy was packaged very simply. It was in a typical, flat, plastic case, with a bulge in the middle that was the shape of the butt plug to hold it in place. It was easy to open, and could be re-used. There was basic information about the toy on paper on the inside of the plastic, but no interesting pictures.

Overall, pretty dull packaging, but you don't mind that, right? Right!

Also, it's plastic, so you could recycle it if you wanted.

I very much enjoyed the toy. It's a decent toy for intermediate users, if you are willing to put a little work and want to get up to something bigger. I wouldn't give it someone who has never even thought of his or her ass as a sexual organ, that would be a disaster. However, if you're up for the challenge, this is a wonderful toy to own.

I was very excited when I got the toy, and immediately set out for my plans. When I first tried to fit this toy into my ass, I had just gotten through with a thorough 'cleaning'. At about 6 inches, 3 and 1/2 inches down the toy or so, it got huge. In fact, it downright hurt! But, I pressed down, back up, back down, and hit a brick wall. I could not get beyond it.

Finally, I had to bite the bullet. Was I going to give up? I thought about it and then determinedly decided against it. I pressed down, and kept pressing down. I felt like I was nearly ready to tear, it was at the thickest point. I bit my lip, and pressed it up with my fingertips as I pressed down. It felt so thick, and I didn't think it was moving at all, then I felt a sudden full feeling in my ass, and a relieving feeling. I took the plug!

I think that's probably my favorite part of taking something large, especially something that gets large, then smaller. It gets to the point where it feels like it's just too much, then suddenly, there's this relief, and release. It feels wonderful.

At that point, I decided to slide it out, slowly press it back in, then give it a rest. It was huge, and I didn't want it to get stuck (it wouldn't, but it was my first time, and I was a little nervous).

I gave it a second shot about a week later, with much easier results. I barely hit the wall the second time, I just bounced up and down until I got to the thickest point, and pressed it in and out.
