Does it really need to bend with me?

The Sassi Bendi Ridge looks like a lot of fun, but it is was more of a pain and a disappointment. I thought the bending would be cool, but it ended up being a pretty useless perk. It does help prevent you from getting hurt though. The material density is good but the material is porous and requires a condom. Using one, makes the suction cup not work. So... if you like less than 3" of insertable thin probing, this guy is for you! Otherwise, pass it up.

Pros
Material density, fun shape and colors, bending may prevent internal injury
Cons
Smells like fabric paint, porous, a condom makes the suction cup even less workable, too short

Use

I have a wishlist full of items that I wanted when joining Eden. A lot of them are based purely on aesthetics and aren't even of good materials, but were too cheap to not just try for the fun of it. I always thought the Bendi Plug line from California Exotics looked like fun! They bend with you and stay in that shape! Sure, they look like fun, but actually, I found that the bending feature wasn't all that special after all. I've also graduated past the size of this probe, so I found it a bit small. Regardless of the bending not adding much to the design, I feel this toy is a good one for beginners. If you are looking for a plug with a suction cup, keep looking. This one sucks, but not literally.

Material / Texture

It's been a while since I've gotten a rubber toy. UGH! This one smells horrible! It smells like fabric paint! No wonder this material is a 3 on the Eden material safety scale. The package doesn't say it is free of any harmful chemicals. Because of this and it being porous, a condom is absolutely necessary for your safety. What is nice about this rubber is that is is soft and pliable, much more plush than other rubbers I have encountered. It makes a nice mix of firm and soft for a butt toy.

Note that the material leaves residue on whatever it touches. It you attempt to suction it to a table, you will need to wipe it off afterward.

Design / Shape / Size

All of the plugs in this collection have a large disc base that is 2 3/4" across and 1/2" tall. It is only slightly concave underneath to form some suction. From this, the probe stands 3 1/2" tall. There are four bulbs. The first is 2 1/4", the second 3" around, the third 3 3/4", and the last is 5 3/4". The last bulb isn't really for insertion though. The jump from the third bulb to the fourth is too large and there is no taper in after the fourth to keep it in either. So really, this toy only has 2 3/4" of insertable space.

In the middle of the toy is a bending core. I'm not sure what this is made of but it allows the top three bulbs to bend 45 degrees in any direction.

Te design really isn't discreet. While it isn't a traditional looking ass toy, it still looks like one.

The material collects lint easily, so it isn't great for travel especially since this material can melt at high temps...like if it were in a hot car or sunlight.

Performance

I'll start with the suction cup. It's kind of shotty. First off, it won't stick to any vertical surface. It has to be something like a table, tub floor, or bathroom counter top. If you pull up on the suction, it will stay for a few moderate tugs and should last through a decent solo session. BUT, if you go sideways even a bit, the suction breaks. This is kind of counter productive with the bending feature. When the toy is bent you naturally thrust a bit sideways...breaking suction.

So, while the first few inches of this was just a teaser for me, I still found a fun use for it. Our living room end tables are the perfect height to sit on. Placing this at the edge of one of the tables, I can sit on it and have my partner play with me or use a clitoral toy on myself. This toy is too short to really do any thrusting, so sitting on it was the only way I found to really use it. Hopping on it proved to be too annoying with the ill working suction cup.

Bending it seemed pretty dumb. It doesn't make it much easier to use or anything. I can see that maybe if you have a height problem, it would make it easier to get onto if a table is a bit too high, but I don't see the suction holding through that.

Care and Maintenance

To care for this plug you really need to use a condom. If you choose to or not, you still need to wash it with warm water and soap. You can use silicone or water based lubricants with it. When storing make sure it is in a cool place away from other rubber/jelly like materials. It will melt! This toy cannot be sterilized.

Packaging

The package is a simple clam shell that shows the toy through the clear plastic. There is barely any information on the package. It is not too much larger than the toy, so it makes good storage.

Personal comments

I think some of the other designs in this series are better choices. If the design of the bending spine peaks your interest, I would try one of those instead. I have attached them below.

Experience

Seeing that this toy wasn't very arousing, I am giving it two stars. The bending feature isn't all that amazing and the smell is horrible! Using a condom is annoying with this since it is hard to stretch over the end often breaking the condom and making the suction not usable at all. I still think it would be fun for a beginner to use. The material is a good density and it didn't hurt at all.
Follow-up commentary
There was not enough about this toy that I liked. I ditched it. I did upgrade to a much better similar toy. This time I chose silicone, a bigger size, and a better design.

Residue?! Yick! I'll have to pass on this one!

Although it's good to see that I'm not the only one who has things on their wishlist for some odd reason or another despite the crappy safety rating!

@ Kim- haha yea. i have things on my wishlist that really should not be there knowing everything about safety.

Shoddy not shotty. (I'm trying to figure out what shotty would mean if it were a word. Shot glass-like? Filled with buckshot? Shh snotty hottie?)
  • Contributor: ~LaUr3n~
I use both words to mean "shitty" without swearing. I know plenty of other people who do too.

Well, I don't want the bends, I guess I'll stay away from this one. Great review!

Look for a review of a similar looking item, but silicone. I am working on that one.

I own this as well and I don't like it either. It smells and it wouldn't stay in.
