My experience with the Colt anal douche was great. I recommend this to everyone before anal play. Douching reduces the annoying anal smell and gets rid of the risk of any possible mess. Perfect for beginners to anal play.Published: May 17, 2011

This douche/anal kit is something great to have around the house. It is reusable, easy to clean, and a really important part of having anal sex/engaging in anal play. You definitely want to keep your nether regions clean, inside and out. This is the little guy who is in charge of it all! There are two attachments, one knobbed attachment for pleasure, and one attachment strictly for douching. The both work great, and are far better than what you will buy at your local grocery store. The fact that it is reusable makes it even better.
The packaging was not discreet. The words ANAL DOUCHE are printed quite largely next to a man in his underwear. If I were a kid over the age of 5 I would be asking questions big time. So open this in privacy if you need to—and dispose of the box quickly.
There are instructions, but no detailed instructions. I guess the company figures that if you are buying it you must know how to use it already. This can be cleaned with latex compatible toy cleaner. I prefer hot water and some antibacterial toy cleaner.
Insertion is comfortable for both attachments. The only issue is that the pleasure nozzle (the knobbed one) leaks a lot. I tried it 4 times and it leaked. I was in the tub thankfully, so no big mess. But I just ended up having to toss it. It wasn't very pleasureful either. Then again, I don't think douching needs to be pleasureful. Just comfortable.
Nonetheless, this is the most comfortable anal douche I have ever done myself. My fiance and I do not have anal sex, but we are experimenting more with anal massage (and I personally LOVE butt plugs). So this was bought to make doing these things cleaner ... and just to make things go more smoothly. Doing an anal douche makes all the difference.

My anal douche is still working as great as when I bought it. Like I mentioned, I trashed the textured extension, but I still keep the thinner one. This douche has yet to gain any odd smell, and has been fairly easy to clean throughout my time owning it. My fiance purchased one recently that didn't have a single problem with the textured extension, so I'm wondering if mine was defective or something. Who knows. But I love it!

What is a good started toy?

Before using toys anally, you might want to practice with a finger, just to get yourself used to the sensation.
As for toys, it's best to start small. Something like this plug or a small dildo would work well (Eden has plenty to choose from, but these are my personal recommendations). The first anal toy I used was Flexi Felix, and while it's a wonderful toy for beginners, as the beads start very small and get larger gradually, the popping sensation that comes with removing them can be a little shocking if you aren't used to it (I loved it, hehehe!).
Go slow, use lots of lube, and if you feel pain, STOP and slow down or try again later. Anal tissues are delicate and can tear easily, so you have to be careful. You might want to try a lube shooter to help get lube up inside you more efficiently. -

I don't have this product in particular, but I'm a supporter of anal douching. Pretty much eliminates any surprises and boosts one's confidence. As far as messy, you should be good as long as you use over a toilet. Just make sure that you leave a few minutes for all the water to work its way out.

In total I’ve used the product 5 separate times, 4 with the thin nozzle and 1 with the ribbed nozzle; every time the thin nozzle was used there was no mess, the one time the ribbed nozzle was used water ended up ‘leaking’ everywhere. That was enough for me to decide I didn’t like it. I haven’t tried the ribbed nozzle again and I don’t really intend to, not only was it messy, but contrary to what the box said, it wasn’t very ‘pleasurable’ either.
If you're using the thin nozzle it shouldn't be too much of an issue, but the ribbed one I'd suggest using in the tub just in case.
