Excellent Choice for a Beginner

All in all, if you're a beginner who wants to try out prostate stimulation and see if it's for you, you should try out this device. It's not intimidating, not scary, and so very, very satisfying. If you're experienced and looking for something that will fill you up and stimulate your prostate, then search around a bit more as this toy is only about as thick as a man's finger anyway and if you're like me that's not necessarily going to cut it.

Use

The Aneros SGX is a wonderful toy for prostate stimulation.

The toy is not too thick nor too long to be uncomfortable, and is perfect for a beginner to prostate stim. It slips in easily with a little lubricant and sits comfortably in place without any effort. It is designed such that it will stay inserted hands-free, but will "rock" and move as you relax or flex certain muscles in order to apply stimulation to the prostate, perineum and anus. The removal ring can also be manipulated while it is inserted in order to have a more direct or forceful effect (something that can be very fun with a partner). The design causes it to stay in place through even the most rigorous of bedroom activity, ensuring that you can use it and do whatever else you'd like without worry. Alone, it's a wonderful toy to use to explore the sensations associated with male stimulation. According to the instructions included (and accounts from other users) it's possible to achieve orgasm purely through the use of this toy. Although I haven't reached that point, it's still wonderful to play with.

The toy is also discreet enough to be able to be worn underneath street clothes if one so desired, though some personal experimentation with clothes and learning to walk and it with it is suggested.

Material / Texture

The SGX is very stiff (like all the Aneros I've experienced). It's made from a hard polymer that means you'll get the stimulation you want where you want it. At the base (the part that gets squeezed by your sphincter) there are ridges that help to keep it in place and also provide some stimulation as it moves around. There isn't too much going on with respect to textures with this toy, but that's perfect for those who are still learning what they like and don't like about P-spot stim.

Alone, it hasn't any smell that I could tell, and it's very easy to clean (an incredibly important aspect for anal toys).

The hard plastic that it's made of seems like it could be brittle, though, and that it might break if you use too much strength when you're removing it. I've always tried to be careful with mine, but I'm sure someone has had a very bad experience with it breaking. Accidents are bound to happen.

Design / Shape / Size

The design of this toy is wonderful, as it was designed specifically for male anatomy. It does a great job of applying direct stimulation to the prostate and allowing you to (with some practice) manipulate the amount of pressure in a hands-free way. It does a good job or applying pressure to the prostate, the perineum, and stimulation the anus. It did everything it was suggested to do and worked wonderfully.

It is still a relatively small toy. After a few months of using it, I made the decision to graduate to something a bit bigger. However, it is a perfect toy for a beginner, and great for couples (I still use it from time to time during sex with my partner). If you are experienced with prostate stimulation and you like a more "filling" sensation, you should probably look for something else, but if you haven't yet figured out what you like about prostate stimulation (or especially if you haven't tried it at all) this is the toy for you. It'll feel a bit more filling than a finger when it's going in, but once it's in it almost feels like it's not there at all (except for the satisfying prostate sensations).

Performance

This toy does the job, it really and truly does. I had ever tried prostate stim until I bought this toy, and the very first time I used it I had a whole-body orgasm that was more intense and longer than any I had had before. I have used this toy also to improve the strength of, and my control over, my Kegel muscles (which aids in improving ejaculatory volume and force) to pretty good effect.

It doesn't require batteries or anything, and is completely waterproof and non-porous, which means you can use it wherever and whenever.

As I mentioned, I needed to move to a larger toy after a few months, but that's also just a personal preference. I'm sure there are males who would be more than happy to use this toy and this toy only.

Care and Maintenance

This toy is easy to clean with mild soap and warm water. A toy cleaner works well. As far as I know, it is compatible with all types of lube (it is simply hard plastic, so silicone lubricants shouldn't degrade it) but I have only used a water based lubricant.

After use, I generally wash the toy, dry it, and then I store it in its original packaging, out of direct sunlight or extreme temperatures (read: a box under my bed).

Follow-up commentary
Although I feel that in some way, I've "outgrown" this toy, I still enjoy it. It's often not as intense as I'd like, but its sensations are directed to where they matter most and it still does a good job of living up to the Aneros hype. I'm planning on getting a larger Aneros toy sometime in the future, but will always be glad I gave this one a try first.
