Falls Just a Little Short

The Aneros SGX is a very small and manageable anal toy. It's an OK place to begin, but more experienced and discerning anal enthusiasts might find it a bit on the small side. Depending on the depth of your p-spot, this toy may not be able to reach it well enough for intense pleasure. I would recommend a similarly shaped, but longer toy, even for beginners (Aneros MGX, for example.) The part for perineum stimulation was a bit too thin and pointed to enjoy.

Use

The Aneros line of prostate massagers are anal toys used for, you guessed it, male prostate stimulation. These toys can be used during masturbation to enhance the masturbation experience with p-spot and anal stimulation, or worn during intercourse. For some people, p-spot stimulation alone is enough to stimulate an orgasm. I have also used this toy with a partner to warm him up before anal sex.

This particular toy is not made for manual thrusting. Instead, the ideal is to use your sphincter muscles to clench and relax, in order to move the toy while anally inserted. While doing so, a portion that remains outside of you pushes on your perineum, providing external p-spot stimulation.

Material / Texture

The Aneros SGX is made from a very hard plastic. This toy has very little give to it, and there is no "squish" to the inserted portion. For some people, this is a good thing. I personally do prefer firmer toys when looking for prostate stimulation. I find that softer and bendable toys can't press up on my p-spot hard enough to give much stimulation. The lack of flexibility does make it a little uncomfortable to move around with, so I would not recommend this for prolonged wear like you would with some butt plugs. The plastic material is also very smooth, and will glide in easily with a healthy amount of lube.

This material is also waterproof, so don't hesitate to try this in the shower or bath. It makes for very easy cleanup.

The plastic is compatible with water, oil, and silicone lubes.

Design / Shape / Size

I am not a fan of white or light colored anal toys. I am surprised that after being around all this time, most Aneros toys still only come in white.

The shape of the SGX is very manageable for beginners. The thin, tapered base allows you to relax once the toy is all the way inserted. The grooves there do a good job of preventing it from falling out. This allows you to move around without much worry of it falling out. However, as mentioned previously, it is a little uncomfortable to do so because of how little flexibility this toy has.

The part that remains outside during insertion presses up against the perineum for added external stimulation. On some anal toys I really enjoy this, but the Aneros SGX is just too thin and hard for me to find it pleasurable. I prefer a wider surface area portion to press on my perineum. The perineum pressure spot also made it difficult to sit on this toy and rock, the thin and unyielding plastic pushed into my perineum painfully.

A small handle provides a good point of control, allowing for adjustment or removal. This is especially helpful for handling this toy when it, or your hands, are covered in lube.

The shape of this toy is definitely made with the location of a man's prostate in mind. The slight upward curve sends the tip in the right direction to find your p-spot. The shortcoming, pun intended, of the SGX model is that it is just too short to reach that spot for me. The SGX is the shortest of the Aneros line, and just can't seem to reach my prostate without me pushing manually and firmly. Longer toys have been able to hit my spot much more easily.

Performance

As said before: I love the shape of this toy, just not the length. Unless you know that your p-spot is not very deep, I would recommend getting the MGX(if you want to stick to the Aneros line of products.) This toy is a bit longer.

Care and Maintenance

The Aneros material is non-porous and can be cleaned with a mild soapy water. The Aneros website also suggests that this cleaning may be followed by "an alcohol or 10% bleach solution wipedown and a thorough drying before putting your device away."

The base of the inserted part is grooved, so extra care should be taken to ensure those grooves are clean.

Packaging

The packaging for this is pleasant. It's not 100% discreet, as it was a clear plastic shell with instructions on the back, but not covered in porn stars like some other toy packages are. I didn't feel like I had to hide this deep in my trash when I tossed the plastic shell.

Experience

The Aneros SGX was my first anal toy. It was a fun way for me to open the doors to anal toy play, but I quickly moved on to bigger (literally) and better things. I was able to get a slight amount of p-spot stimulation with this, but could never quite sustain it or seem to hit that spot hard enough. After experimenting with longer toys, I quickly found that the SGX was just too short to properly apply pressure to my prostate.
