Lollipoppers ribbed anal plug - vibrating anal plug discontinued by Doc Johnson - review by southerndixie

I have been interested for some time to finally purchase my first anal plug. Upon research and much debating on which plug to purchase, I chose the Lollipoppers ribbed anal plug. My first reason for choosing this cherry red popper was for the vibration, ridges, adjustable speed, a safe wide base and the ability of a finger ring holder for easy handling . Wow, was I surprised when I got it- it was BIG! I was not able to "just use" it. I had to work up to it with the help of my husband. We had a lot of fun working up for plug play. When I felt ready and after loading it up with lube, were we able to get the Lollipopper in. It did take a few tries.

Once I was able to pop it in, it was just that. A huge POP! It literally took my breath away, and sent me into slight shock as I got past the widest part that it slid right in to the base. I did find the ribbing on this toy to be too much for thrusting. I did enjoy the multiple vibration settings, as I was able to adjust it to my liking. I have only used this toy once, as I have not had the slightest urge to use again. This plug is not big or difficult to use, I personally do not find the vibration levels high enough for my liking. I am keeping this handy if the mood strikes.

This "popper" as I call it, is great for couples, gender play and even using solo.

The Lollipoppers Anal Plug by Doc Johnson is made from the material TPR, a rubber polymer blend. The material is firm and I did not find it very flexible; other than the base. As you can see in the pictures I have provided below, that the base is very flexible. You are able to move the base up, down and even twist.


The ribbed effect of this plug makes it harder to insert. Take your time with inserting, this of course is needed if you are not use to such BIG anal plugs. The TPR material does seem to be a little grabby to the skin if your skin is dry. I suspected this from a TPR material. The Lollipopper has a safety rating of 7 out of 10.

Upon opening from it's package, I did not notice any odor. I was almost tempted to even give this plug a taste, but I figured that would just be wrong.

Here I have copied the measurements directly from the product page for the Lolliepopper- Length: 6 1/2" Insertable length: 4" Circumference: 5 1/2" Diameter: 1 1/2", Oh, my, my was this wrong. I measured my Lolliepopper and it is just slightly bigger. How much bigger you ask? Length: 6 7/8" I didn't get all technical and started investigating on every single inch. This gives you an idea that the measurements are not exact. The Lolliepopper fits well in my hand is reaches from my finger tip and just over my wrist.

The main portion of the plug is ribbed, which I think resembles a bee hive. The spacing of the ribs are well spaced from another. As you can see that each rib is wider than the rib before it. This is how the plug becomes wider towards the base. Like I mentioned before, when you reach the widest part, get ready to be popped.

Just below the base you will find the oh so wonderful finger holder. This is nice if you choose thrusting during play. The finger hold gives the ability for easy control and handling of the plug. The finger holder is accessible for solo or couple play. I find the holder a bonus feature.

The Lolliepopper, delivers and then some, but depends on what you are wanting in a plug.

The Lolliepopper does not, I repeat does not come with batteries. The plug does require (two) AAA batteries. The battery compartment is located at the finger holder.

The finger holder twists until it unlocks. The battery housing is clearly labeled for correct orientation of the batteries. To replace the top you twist until you hear it connect fully.

I wish the vibrations were more intense, for stimulation I need power. I gave this plug 3 vrooms, it has a kick and the vibrations are noticeable, but just not enough for me. The noise is noticeable when not inserted, however; during use the vibration noise does taper. I gave the rating of 2 bees for the fact this plug is being inserted for play. When not in you, the plug jumps to 3 1/2 Bees.

When you are wanting to change the setting of the vibrations while the plug is inserted, I did find it hard to twist and change the speeds during solo use. I am not an acrobat!! Once you take the plug out, then of course that changes everything. During couples use, the changing of speed is easy as your partner can handle this operation.

It is recommended to use warm soapy water or toy cleaner for cleaning. This "popper" is not waterproof and shouldn't be totally submerged but can be run under water. Remember, do not get the the finger holder base wet during cleaning. You will have to make sure that the ribs are cleaned. After cleaning and drying, I did notice light lint attached to the toy. I would recommend air drying. Since this plus is made from TPR, it is best to use silicone or water based lubes.

For healthy play and sharing of this plug with a partner, please make sure you cover with a condom. Storing this plug is quite easy, I store mine in my toy box but you can store this plug anywhere.

The Lolliepopper came packaged in a typical brown shipping box. Upon opening, I was greeted with little inside brown packing paper. If you would like to keep your little dirty secret, a secret, then I would not open this with others present. Once I moved the brown paper more to the side, I then was greeted with busty titties in my face and the cherry red Lolliepopper, staring at me. At the bottom right hand corner you read the name "Sophia". The plug came packaged in a typical plastic clam-shell case. This packaging is not discreet and horrible for storage beyond temporary use.

If you are new to anal plugs, I would not recommend the Lollipepopper Ribbed Anal Plug. This plug is quite "BIG" in Diameter: 1 1/2". The ribs might or might not, be to much for you. If you want the breath taking, anal popping sensation then this is for you. I do recommend the Lolliepopper Smooth Anal Plug if the Ribbed is not to your liking.

I had mixed feelings about this plug once I received it. The picture makes this cherry red popper look desirable. I wasn't fully convinced and even turned off a little after opening. I wasn't backing down now! I started out working up to the excitement of testing this out and then it hit me... after three attempts of trying to insert the plug I started to get worried it wouldn't fit. My husband flipped me over onto my stomach, pulled my hips up and into him and then arched my back. That turned me on even more. He lubed me up and slowly began to insert the plug. Everything was great until he hit the widest part. Oh it POPPED me like a firecracker. Sent me into shock. The shockness was a mixture of pain and pleasure. Still enjoyable with a slight hence of pain. Once I surpassed the aftermath, the plug just slid right in. I didn't enjoy the thrusting of the plug, the ribs didn't feel pleasurable enough. Over all, my experience was just okay.
